Well triiforce's purpose is saving from nand space, I can't see the use of saving space on usb or sd.
When you load a game from USB device, you need the whole copy of your NAND in that device. Then, how about use Real-NAND to load the USB game instead use USB-Nand for that purpose? I mean if you don't have any problem with your Real-NAND you could make use of it and you won't need any NAND's copy in your device

Well I don't think you'll need a full copy, first of all the used ios is fixed IOS 249, you can delete the other ios's from the nand dump, you can delete system titles like weather / news and such. Even if you don't delete anything I think full nand's size is relatively too small compared to a decent harddrive... 320 times smaller if harddisc is 160GB... for low capacity storage like sd/sdhc it's better to use nintendo's approach I think.

Well, I was focusing on people who had problems with NAND emulation, but it seems that the NAND copy is relatively small (100~150MB) when you leave the essential files on the copy.

I want to load triiforce mrc (http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=184568) right from the screen which appears on the wii when it has finish booting (which the disc channel and so on).
The app is normally started through HBC.

Can I make a forwarder with this app for the triiforce mrc (which is loaded from USB:/apps/triiforce/boot.dol)
I only want to load the app not a specific game.

Many thanx!

just took it for a test drive and it works good. didn't brick my wii at all. any chance of gecko support through the streaming stuff? wiiload windows version almost supports usb gecko already. there is just a small check that must be taken out before compiling that fixes the compatibility and that would let me stream shit without having to wait on damn HBC to init the network.

also i didn't see a way that this could put a channel on a nand dump at the same time it was creating a forwarder channel for it. is this possible yet?

Well it doesn't bricks but you might never know what might happen (recent a boy and his blob for example), you should at least have preloader. Since I don't have a usb-gecko I can't use the wiiload sources... maybe I can add an option to use the existing wiiload client and invoke it on the command line. Installation feature just creates a dol file with a wad included.

About the nand-dump, it's easy to implement yet there are applications like ShowMiiWads that already does this in a quite nice interface. I saw it as a redundant feature. Maybe someday I can do it if I write a listening party at the wii site to install/uninstall larger stuff. A streaming version of wad manager. (Or if someone else writes)

Hey, WiiCrazy.

How about to add game settings menu as cLoader does but changed with Triiforce's options?
- Check 2:15 to see what I'm talking about:
... that would be a nice feature

Well it's pretty easy, triiforce already contains the user interface for these... But I don't see the real value... this channel creator stuff, you know for the kids and the family actually... a loader with a decent gui better suits those needs I think...

What percent of cLoader users use the built-in menu to change settings? I don't think it's even 5 or 10 percent.

The forwarder filesize between built-in menu and no built-in versions are quite similar:
- Typical Forwarder with no built-in menu: 1177KB
- Forwarder with built-in menu: 1224KB

That means the built-in menu just takes around 47KB of additional space. The point is that before you make a channel forwarder with Crap, you would be able to choose between making a forwarder with Built-in Menu or not:
crapmenu.png

http://picfling.com/images/362_crapmenu.png
That would be a very interesting option for people who look a fastest way to load their games, plus the ability to change Triiforce's settings on-the-fly just before they load the game

I can't get this to run. I'm getting the following error:

"This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

I checked and I have .Net Framework 2.0.50727 installed. Running XP.

Are the 2 files 'resources' and 'common-key' supposed to have an extension? If not, any idea what might be wrong?

c++ redistributables 2008 package is also needed,

x86 : http://www.microsoft.com/downloadS/details...4D-074B9F2BC1BF
x64 : http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...0D-3802B2AF5FC2

If this is not the case, could you post the actual error on the eventlog, you can find it in the application section.

Ah, that wasn't mentioned in the README.

Thanks.

EDIT: OK, it appears to be working, although I have not tried to install the created WAD.

It was suggested in the TriiForce thread that I could use your tool to create WAD's for TriiForce that I could then extract a .dol file from for use in creating an ISO 'forwarder' which will launch that particular game when the ISO is installed to the WBFS drive. As you can probably guess I'm totally new to this stuff, so I've no idea what I'm looking for. I used ShowMiiWads to extract the WAD created with your tool, but obviously there isn't a .dol file anywhere to be found. Do I simply have to rename one of the files or are there more steps needed?

To sum up, what I'm ultimately trying to do is to be able to create any ISO 'forwarder' I want for any VC/WW game launched with TriiForce from my emulated NAND on my USB HD so I can install the ISO's to the WBFS and launch them with WiiFlow. I hope that makes sense to you.
smile.gif
They've already made a few ISO's to launch VC/WW but those are only for games installed to the Wii's internal NAND and not an emulated NAND.

Well sometimes writing readme's harder than writing code... some things get slipped easily... sorry for that...

What you are trying to accomplish is a bit weird... launching HBC, launching VC/Wiiware using ISO's is a bit far fetched... Still, there is still value in it because of the cover service that these usb loaders make use of...

Let's get back to Crap, once you created a channel in Crap, go to the temp folder, take the 00000001.app file... it's the patched loader, then you can rename it and use it in your ISO... Though it's better you test it first before doing all the stuff to replace the dol in iso and such, some games just doesn't work with the default settings...

Hi WiiCrazy!

I made a CrapTriiforce loader mod with No Verbose output (no Triiforce log) feature
biggrin.gif
! ....

Here's the link:

NEW VERSION: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=151...t&p=2368174

- It's faster. It doesn't display logs and it will display them if there are issues only.
- It feels like a real channel installed on your wii (no text displayed during the game loading).

See ya

Yes, but you must follow the next steps:
- Add Craptriiforce.dol in "Loaders" folder from Crap.
- Run Crap and then make the channel forwarder (wad file).
- Unpack the wad file and rename 001.app to boot.dol.

Actually, sr_corsario is working in a tool for do that

You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60
