Hacking could the R4 card prevent you from loading official games?

so I'm trying to sell my DS Lite, on which I've used the R4 card for a while [with woodr4 firmware]. I went to the store,
and to my dismay the employee was unable to load official game cartridges
it would just skip to the ds menu. he said that he knew of the problem for certain DS models,
but wasn't sure of it for the DS Lite.
Could the R4 card be the problem? Can it be fixed?

just as a clarification, the r4 card works and it loads games perfectly.

Flash carts don't modify DS units software-wise, so that's not the issue.

It might be a contact issue though between official carts and the DS's pins (since flash carts are shaped slightly differently they could be making contact when real games would be unable to).
