So when I try to install both Super Mario Advance and Super Mario Advance 4 on my emunand it loads but says corrupted save data, how do I fix this? is there away to? these are literally the only two games that install fine but won't play lol grrrr :p

I'm on rxTools Custom Firm everything works expect those two games, just wondering if any ones got them to work? and how?

Its probably the .CIA files you installed them with as its fine on mine. Try unlinking your nands then reinstall those games and then give it a shot.

My nands aren't linked though, and my roms work fine on mgba? is it possible you could upload your cia's for Super Mario Advance and Super Mario Advance 4 and PM me the links?

We arent allowed to distribute cia's. Try updating your emunand to 10.3.0-28 since they are unlinked. Then reinstall your cia.

I suggest you inject them yourself that way you can make sure they are injected properly, and you can patch them with color restoration patches available for the gba rom before hand.

Is it possible you could make rule breaking requests in pm's where we don't have to blatantly see them?

I'm having this problem as well, I can't get any of the Super Mario Advance games working.

That sounds good.... Color restoration.... I didn't know we could do that.... I wouldn't mind trying that.... Any links for a tutorial?

can u point me in the right direction on what u did or used to convert the GBA games into cia's properly? :D
A certain site notorious for 3ds piracy contains several solid tutorials in their tut section for VC rom injection.
It's a bit complicated sounding at first, but really easy once you understand the process.
The tut might not mention it, but there are programs people on gbatemp made to streamline the banner making process and the like. You can find them if you look for them.

It's likely either the rom is giving you issues because it was a bad dump, injected wrong, or needs a save fix patch.
I've only encountered a single gba game that I was unable to get working properly after injecting due to it being a port of an arcade cabinet board to gba hardware.
Pokemon games can be tricky though, they require some manual intervention to get the save and battery backup feature working smoothly.

edit: Looking in my gba injection folder here's some tools you might need:
GBA_VC_Banner_and_Icon_Generator
3ds_gbaftrgen
3ds_simple_gba
gbata (not needed but handy for checking what the title is going to be identified as when installed)
3DS To CIA Converter
Oh and of course LunarIPS for rom patching.

There's only a few games with patches out for color fixes.

They are much better than the washed out (lightened) versions of the games that came out to compensate for the lack of the first gba model's backlight.

Just look around that site, they have all the Super Mario Advance color fixes if I remember right, and FF6/3 color fixes uncensored patches, and sound restoration patches.

I give I have been trying all day to get my os3ds to play Super Mario Advance and Advance 4, I managed to use the gbata to patch the SRAM which I'm pretty sure is supposed to fix the save issue with Super Mario Advance 4 not sure what the deal is with Super Mario Advance though, loads up and has a greyish background and text that just says corrupt data grrrr, am i doing something wrong? sigh :( every other gba game I have installed plays fine except those two, jaksy I have all those tools, I've converted several games and they play and save fine lol but thank you :) are you allowed to email the cia's that you installed that are working for you?

Try a different dump, if you're trying (U) try the (E) region.
There's a post here about editing a hex string on troublesome games like SMA4, but I don't remember having to do that myself.

i instaloled pokemon emerald but when i open it up it says error has occurred how do i fix it
Pokemon on the other hand, that definitely requires hex editing to get running right.

the place where i downloaded the cia said it was fixed and save working etc
A message popping up is standard in pokemon after a rom has been hex edited in the fashion I linked above.
Just ignore it and everything should be fine assuming it was edited properly.
