ROM Hack Converting Pokemon Emerald 64kb GBA VC save dump to 128kb sav?

Hi lads, I have a 64kb save from an Emerald VC which I dumped through gm9 (I wanted to fast-forward through the game on a PC emulator). Neither mGBA nor VBA-M reads the save I just can't find anything about a proper conversion method. Is it even possible? I hope I'm just dumb and it's right under my nose.

Or instead, maybe I could extract the ROM from GBA VC and use it with the save? Which would be the most painless method?

Edit the save with a hex editor and put two lines of 0's to bulk the save up to the size you want

I went ahead and literally duplicated all the lines to get 128kb and it actually worked. Thanks for the encouragement!
