Perhaps English is not their first language? I bet you'd have a few spelling mistakes if you were trying to write on a German/French/Spanish/Chinese forum.

In fact - I doubt you even thought about - which begs into question your intelligence level.
I thought about that, but they all have an American flag under there name, which means there only excuse is if they may have gone to a bad school maybe, or none at all.

Yeah I guess you are referring to the nvhax browserhax ... and that is where I kinda screwed up. My ipatched is on 7.x already.

But all in all ... all I really would want is a way to get my old saves transferred between the two.

Because really life with a superbanned and ipatched switch is not that bad (best of both worlds).
But that still seems something that will not happen soon ... ahh the horror of saves of 450+ hours of BOTW and others going towards the 100hours a piece ... is just painful not to have on the 'vanilla' 'goodie goodie' system
Not just nvhax + browserhax, deja vu is fully usable upto 6.1.0. If people found another browser exploit and another exploit similar to nvhax (in terms of how powerful it is) on 7.0.x deja vu might be possible on that as well, Horizon is VERY secure though :/

That's a pretty bad situation to be in :(

Yeah Nintendo really learned a lot form their past mistakes it seems.
But as noted Im ok with it ... I have backups of the saves thanks to checkpoint. Just hope a day will come when I can really transfer them over to the vanilla ipatched switch.

But only time will tell.

Thanks for taking the time to repond btw, much appreciated.

Were they to abandon the project it would have been better for them to stay quiet into the void of time and disappear from the scene
Obviously not, they're driven by profits. The best thing to do if they were about to fold, which I am not convinced they are (obviously they will suck up the boot screen even if it equals reduced profits, as it is better some profit than no profit), would be to lie about it and keep sales up for as long as possible before bailing.
I mean TX comes from the Xbox scene.
TX today is not the same as TX from X-Box days, only the name is the same. There are threads here discussing this.
atmosphere = 1 guy
TX = at least 3 guys? idk

I think what's much more important in this respect is that Atmosphere isn't their job, they are not being paid to do it. They do it for their own enjoyment and to help the community. Where TX is cranking large profits margins; and are enabled to do so largely by not offering any real support to their customers (I mean the least they could have is a 1-800) and relying on free tech support from the wider community (including GBAtemp) doing as little as possible else besides what is necessary to rope in more gullible buyers (I'm not saying all SXOS users are gullible buyers, but a lot of them are not as sophisticated in their understanding until well after they bought it and realize they basically have to figure it out their self).

So once the Switch runs out of Pokemon games to mod then it's bye-bye Atmosphere.
Yeah, except for Atmosphere is open-source so you can expect many, many, people to pick up the torch where others have dropped it for many years in the future, much like The Wii or any other legacy console that's been hacked, long after even the manufacturers stop supporting it (I am looking at you Vita, most recently).

As far as SX, you can assume once it is no longer profitable it will be nothing more than a reminder of the $50 you wasted when there were free solutions available (with all the big necessities now, and with a little patience will likely have similar or better features than what you paid for in the future).

.... And by then, you too will be using the open source tools that everyone else is and wondering why you were shilling for TX so hard (who couldn't care any less about you, beyond your initial purchase).

That's actually pretty revealing. He only works on things that please him. TX, however you want to cut it, works on things that please their customers. So once the Switch runs out of Pokemon games to mod then it's bye-bye Atmosphere. :rofl2:

Atmosphere will have my continued support until the Switch hits EoL or I die, whichever comes first.

Probably the former comes first.

Anyway, I feel it's pretty reasonable to prioritize the parts of a project that I'm going to be working on for 5-6 years that I enjoy working on the most...and the list of things to do before emunand is the only hurdle between us and AMS 1.0.0 is dwindling (it's just debugger dev + emunand, now...)

By that point people used their money worth.

I've already had my money worth. The haters can't understand that the $30 i spent 8 months ago works out at $0.12 a day. while they were struggling with layered FS , games not working and having to install NSP files my kids were playing ALL the games that had come out and still do :). oh and not to mention Emunand and Usb loading :)

Thanks Team NX!

I have the emunand situation going on and it works great. I simply boot into OFW to play online and keep my backup playing in emunand.

I suspect that TX is working on adding new features, features that are open source and working on other custom firmwares. Features such as overclocking.

although I have huge doubts anyone would be able to make homebrew that would give support for the touch screen
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
then again theres still people who develop games on systems as old as the nes for fun

    (
    micromages is amazing btw)

I doubted 360 emulation would be possible
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
yet here we are seeing ps4 and even some (very experimental
    ) ps5 emulation
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Ps5 emulation? Why
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I always thought Saturn emulation would straight up be impossible
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Just the atchiture is insanely complex
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
That's why it annoys me when people rant about things being impossible when it comes to software some things should just be focused on more than others
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
because they want to flex their insane developer skills ofc
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
We have ps5 exploits where's an article talking about ps5 emulation?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
if i wanted to play gb games on a touch screen device i would just use my phone
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    heres ps4/5
emulation (it is far from playing actual games yet but its something) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qe71pCjC9U
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I thought PS4/5 and Xbox One emulation would be kind of easy since they basically just a PC
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    they sorta are a pc
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They haslve dedicated on board chips that aren't tweaked like x64/x32 afaik
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
but its a custom os for both of them
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    designed for only specific hardware
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
so you have to learn to emulate that specific hardware which isn't as easy as you'd think
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It's a locked down Linux distro basically
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think the only custom hardware is to do with the SSD and a security chip
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Probably combined in one chip
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They place married security chips onto boards iirc

Damn Frontier is offering 5Gbps now lol

I honestly can't recommend any of the big 3 this years I'd say buy a rog ally z1 if we're being honest
