Maybe he should add something like
"If the drive has no letter; use these steps: "
As I find it a bit unclear now

And you seem to like the new tag a lot oggzee

The instructions already state "If at any point you get a method to refer to your drive, go to the Methodology." I thought that was enough, but I guess some people don't read all the instructions. I guess I'll add that to every point where you get an answer then.

Ah, didn't see that (I actually don't read much guides anyway)
But its even better now

I tried creating a 1:1 .wbfs file but I get the following:

N:\>wbfs_file -1 ms.iso
Using OPTION -1 : make a 1:1 copy
Converting ms.iso to WBFS
Writing: RSIE69.wbfs
adding RSIE69 MySims...
Create Split: 1 RSIE69.wbf1
Create Split: 2 RSIE69.wbf2
error reading disc 1174994944 4699979776 32768 = 0
error reading disc: No such file or directory

Tried twice with the same results. Plenty of space on the HD.

Tried with another ISO and same results.

N:\>wbfs_file -1 zry-rhf.iso
Using OPTION -1 : make a 1:1 copy
Converting zry-rhf.iso to WBFS
Writing: RRRE5Z.wbfs
adding RRRE5Z Real Heroes: Firefighter...
Create Split: 1 RRRE5Z.wbf1
Create Split: 2 RRRE5Z.wbf2
error reading disc 1174994944 4699979776 32768 = 0
error reading disc: No such file or directory

What am I doing wrong?

It looks that I am doing something wrong (not the first time).
I haven't tested it properly as there isn't any real use for that at the moment.
Consider the 1:1 copy option broken for now, but i will try to fix that some day.

I had a quick look at the wbfs_file_1.2 source and was just wondering if you could confirm what I've taken from it and fill in the blanks?

So, a .wbfs file is just a wbfs partition stored in a file, containing 1 disc. The file is split every 2 gig - 1 sector. The partition is also trimmed. Apart from the text file, is there anything else I missed?

I want to incorporate .wbfs and fat32 into my Backup Manager so it's easy to convert between ISO/CISO/WBFS/.wbfs etc..

Cheers.

Yes, exactly as you put it.
The functionality to create these .wbfs files was already in the original wbfs sources, it was just never used.
All that I added to the file 'format' was the splits.
Nice to hear you're adding support for it.

Is there any way to control the speed of the Scrolling? I have it set on 2 row Flow which I like, but for some reason the fast speed of the scrolling gives me a headache. I have tested this many times and each time Headache! I realize you can control the speed with the Wiimote, but that doesn't work all the time - sometimes it is too fast! I am hoping I can slow it down with the Directional keys so that I don't have the uncertainty of the Wiimote. I just started using this loader and I really like it, but these motion-headaches are not worth it...

Thanks in advance...

Sorry, but, exactly how do you use the wbfs_file utility?
I downloaded it and tried to run but it just makes a command screen to appear for 1-2 seconds.
Somebody told me that it is just for linux, is that so? and what do i need to make it work?
Thanks

Don't double-click the file. Open it manually by clicking Start -> Run and type "cmd" without the quotations.

Then get to the drive and directory you want. For example my wbfs_file.exe is in "C:\Wii\WBFS\" so I get there by typing:

C: [hit enter]
cd Wii [hit enter]
cd WBFS [hit enter]

Now, type "wbfs_file ISONAME.iso" and it will automatically convert.

*edit* - OR just drag your .iso over. =) Thanks, Golfdude.

Thanks a bunch for the FAQ. I scanned the first post to see if this has been asked.

Is there an alternate for wbfs_file? Something with a GUI maybe?

Hello all,

first of all Thanks to the dev for this awesome apps.
Anyway, I would like to ask the dev :

Does the loader works with a FAT formatted SDHC (without any WBFS partition) ?

Here, the loader always says "unable to mount device".

Thanks for all

No, FAT32 support doesn't work from SD.
