Anybody who's played Ultra Moon on the Citra_VS2017_Qt5.9.1 build encounter an issue when going to care for your pokemon after a battle and once your pokemon is shown on the bottom screen, Citra just crashes?

In the latest build it is weird, it is like loos "slow" (UM) at 20 FPS but the speed is normal at 100%, so even it is more playable than anything before lol
I get no crashes (besides photoclub) in the builds i posted, in the latest one the game does not crashes when i take care of a pokémon after a battle (in any emulator i did not get any crashes taking care after a battle)

Does anyone know what causing this ? I'm using "citra-windows-msvc-20171111-b127153" build, this happen when you encounter flying pokemon in route 3 in pokemon sun, sometimes it wont happen tho, but when it did, it'll crash the game, also the aforementioned build wont show opening movie for pokemon sun and pokemon ultra moon.

new build when done later, msvc build will be fine.
https://ci.appveyor.com/project/Jhno591/citra-glyef

(Note) The error will be in the texcache-rebase MinGw one, it will not compile, anyone good at fixing this ?, keep eye out on it compiling list at 50%

By me in PM

btw - 1, chagne too - 0, this helps DKCR startup
https://github.com/Dragios/Citra/commit/e12de2edd6a5ae1b7f40cee07307589836313f0c
+Prevents random freezing in dkcr, std::max helps get it pass the loading screen
https://github.com/citra-emu/citra/pull/3091

= it working but still bad sound.

Some think I found out last night

As it's been brought up but not really discussed, why is the emulation speed saying 100% when in reality it's only hitting the 66% mark (20FPS, aka 40FPS instead of the full 60) -- this being with Pokemon Moon / Ultra Moon.

The audio sounds great for the most part, it sounds like it's at 100% speed. However, the frames are not.

Frames are fine inside buildings. Just not when in the outdoors.

So far I've found the Citra_VS2017_Qt5.9.1_generic_sandbox_20171107 runs Pokemon at 100% speed, 100% audio. Just that the audio is slightly crackly.

To fix the crackled audio, download the 5.9.2 and take the SDL2.dll and place it into the 5.9.1 VS2017 Citra. That should fix the audio. :)

It's one of Sickc's builds.

Drwhojan's build Citra-CC-MSVC-Update2_05_11_2017 look back a few pages, too page 317.

For some reason my game don't save. It says that it saved, but it doesn't even create the file (it don't open the folder when I click to "Open Save Data Location"), knows how to fix it?

Edit; Actually it did save, just don't let me open the folder lol

Thanks, this by far is the fastest one, but be careful that with this one the game crashes (or citra) taking care of your Pokémon after a battle

Wow that latest one it shows 20FPS but 100%speed, it is weird and amazing at the same time

I feel this is still not quite wright yet
https://github.com/citra-emu/citra/pull/3091

While using these branches to boost the speed
https://github.com/Phanto-m/citra/branches

Yes both combos, seam to mess up the FPS a bit, But the speed is the speed.

The FPS was only a measure-er not to inportent in playing the game.
-------
Edit: the fps speed seems to be going by the audio rather then the game speed, both not syn.

Is it me or the .rar is corrupted? I want to try fantasy life too.
The pastebin link builds boost the fps of Level5 games i have like yokai and layton but fantasy life doesn't boot at all

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves

why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
