Hacking cIOSX rev21d2x: Yet Another Hot Fix!!!!

Kinda, but not really. I did try that once, but I had to edit the wad (I was trying to install a dev-only channel, the Disc Check wad). Dev stuff not only uses a different key, but also uses different certs too. And in order to even use the 2nd key, byte 0x1f1 in the ticket must = 0x01, and only Korean titles have that.

In the end, to get it to work, I had to decrypt the wad with the dev-key, then switch out the dev certs with the retail ones, then reencrypt it with the common key, then install it normally.

Thanks for the answer but actually I see no need for it in this cIOS (the dev thingy) I was just curious if it would work and if it was easily implemented it also could have been added at the same time as the Korean common key "just becaouse we could!"

(But maybe we should add the dev comman key also when we're at it? Who knows.. maybe someone makes an wad installer or mod that could do the above you explained or vice versa. Maybe better to suport it either way for future projects?

Davebaol also guess there is a connection between these two problems, I'm sure he currently works on it.

cIOS d2x Installer v1.2 will come very soon, I have sent new sources to Dragbe and ask him to check something with modules.
cIOS d2x Installer v2.0 is already on the road also

How can I do that as mod-mii menu 4 gives only cios249[bb]-v21d2x-4 and cios250[bb]-v21d2x-4 choices (my question is about 247 use not the fact that the choice gibe v21d2x-4) ?

Finally is there a problem to use 247, 248 or 251 ?

From the main menu in ModMii, do A (advanced custom downloads). Pick 249d2x[bb] and then on the next page it will ask you what slot you want it to install to.

I see the first question is answered.

There is no problem using 247, 248 or 251, but not all homebrew can use other slots...

I've looked into ios code and actually those patches are for the IOP module which is in the kernel .app file along with ES and FFS modules.

Anyways, here is a new ESP module which applies those patches to IOP: http://www.multiupload.com/3L23RGFBFG

It should work for bases 37, 53, 55, 56, 57 and 58.

Just replace the old module in d2x v6beta1.

Huh, you are correct, I didn't even look at it (just saw the name and that it was posted by the same person as posted version 1.1). In that case the latest version is still 1.1, and still it would be nice to update the link on the front page. If I have some time this afternoon I will compile an updated version of the installer for v5 and v6b1

Yes, there is one. I cannot play karaoke games with d2x Base 57 (these games require IOS57). There are audio sync problems if you play of USB. I then tested to play the games of SD card (FAT and wbfs folder [thanks again davebaol for the tip]) and it worked also with d2x v4.

The IOS Reload block option used in combination with Hermes cIOS works exactly on one game, House of the Dead 2+3(i think 2 is unplayble without IOS Reload block). The IOS Reload block option NeoGamma had for quite a while only worked for discs, and there not very well, considering it didn't have a 002 error solution.
