Well I think Hermes has his own mind and he doesnt care about other usb loaders and cIOS. That makes his uLoader the very best loader in the scene. Unfortunately the GUI is not that good, but its ok

You are completely right. I used to be a uloader fan but after noticing Hermes bad mood toward recommendations and his followers supporting every word his say while insulting one wishes almost to the point in banning me because free speech is not allowed "there" I left and arrived in this forum where recommendations and open minded ideas are the rule of the house.

The guy is awesome cannot take that out and I would be a liar if I state otherwise, but his personality is the other way around.

Well he releases his source along with each new version, and is even happy to package forks in with his releases. Why not get in touch with the uLoader Alternative team about them or add the features yourself?

I agree; hermes is not only one of the most talented hacker/developper in the Wii scene, providing sourcecode for many useful AND innovating applications, libraries, CIOS... but is also one of the most helpful, having written many detailled tutorials on how to use its code, etc (at least in spanish but it's easily translated).

If by "free speech" you mean annoying people with repetitive and lame/noobs requests, I easily understand why you get banned and imo, people like him should not waste their time for this, it's up to other devs to understand how the stuff are evolving, if they can (obviously, it's not as easy as "revamping" the good old USB loader code with a "sexy" GUI)

No no you are misunderstanding. In my case I didn't post noob questions or anything. What I meant was for example "Hermes what do you think about supporting fat32 drives? He would reply something like "Leave it to other people, that's not my problem etc etc and the other forum members start attacking me because of that "stupid recommendation". Thats what I meant. I'm not saying anything bad about who he is or done to the wii world. I meant that aspect of him. his personality.

Uloader does not have an "alternative uloader team" the work is solely of Hermes. That is impressive really. Recently Waninkoko is supporting Hermes but the real genius there is Hermes who can solve problems and errors that Waninkoko can't.

Those pointed there in that Link are people that modify compiled versions of Uloader with themes and other superficial stuff. But in terms of technical problems (cios, modules etc) Hermes is the only capable of giving the correct answers.

They are considered a team because the are the more close to Uloader progress, evolution, support and promoting.

Didn't it came to your mind that maybe this question was asked a billion time before ? And that devs might get a little annoyed by people always requesting additional features they think are "cool" instead of taking benefits of what already exist ?

You see, this is exactly what I was referring to, this is the kind of redundant features requests that everybody knows about and still feel the need to ask again & again... I'm sure he perfectly knows about FAT32 support and how it can be added or not, he doesn't need us to "suggest" or "remind" him about this every ten posts in a row

i don't mean to offend anyone, i'm just sick of checking posts in this thread and seeing the same argument over and over again when I expect to see some relevant constructive comments

on a relevant note, I haven't installed the new rev 5 yet, but I'll give it a go soon enough... thank hermes!

If you're all unsure if you should install it or not, why not just install IOS224? It won't uninstall rev4 then because that had no IOS224.

i think we just need to give the usb loader devs time to add 224 as an option in their apps. This could be done by anyone if they modify the existing source code (but may was well wait for the pros to do it, i'm sure it wont be long before oggzee and the config team incorporate ios224 into cfg loader... and as usual the other loaders wont be much further behind... yes i know i am cfg biased, usb loader gx is also really good, but i just prefer cfg)

my mistake... I didn't see that... but oggzee has a point, rev 4 works just fine...

besides, if any1 REALLY wants to use rev 5 with configurable without modding the usb loader source code (so they can still get updates without having to re-mod the source) they can do this (in theory, never done it, but i'm sure it would work):

They can pack a wad of 222 rev 5, and use showmiiwads to change the version number to 4, then reinstall it using wad manager. It may fail because its installing 'an older rev', if this is the case, just delete IOS222 with any title deleter, then reinstall the modified wad of IOS222v5 (with the version changed to v4) using wad manager.

Then your loader should function just fine (as cfg loader currently just checks that you're using rev 4 of ios222). The only reason it wouldn't work is if there is a problem with the cios itself, or if there is a compatibility issue between the cios and the loader you're using. But I doubt it changed THAT much from rev 4, so i expect it would work fine.

You are right, I apologize for my behavior didn't mean to offend. So what is the problem with this cios? It doesn't have merging options?

I dont use uloader but surely as this is a release for the new version then it would be looking for the new V5 222,223 as well as the new 224 so just installing 224 might not be any use

I remember when installing Hermes cIOS v4 there was 222 - I used that for 38+37 .. 223 - for 38+60 .. and I think there was also 202 or 204 or something similar .. is it possible to use that for another option - like 38 unmerged .. ? or do we have to use 224 in v.5 ?

Was hoping for a IOS58 merge for the usb camera.

Tried out uLoader, but its pooh after using CFG. Guess ill wait for oggzee and co to add support, but as someone said above v4 works well enough so theres no rush!

the great thing about uLoader 4.5b is that you can save your Wii game-saves on an sdcard.
