I don't really keep up with the whole jailbreak thing, but I do play Black Ops daily on my PS3. From what some folks have said here on these boards, it seems that people using jailbreak are keeping their systems offline (or am I wrong?) However, it's also been reported that both MW & MW2 are hacked up the wazoo. How are those folks hacking the game if not using the jailbreak method? And what is the likelihood we'll see cheaters (aside from the prestige cheats) in Black Ops?

You can't go online with Jailbreak or CFW because you have to be on a lower FW so unless devs make a CFW for ever OFW you will not see them.

There are ways.... i have not bothered with them but you can connect to psn with cfw 3.55.

And if it is; its not been for a long time
People on other sites are saying that it's working. I don't really know though. I don't really feel like trying it.

The DNS trick still works...

To answer the op, I do remember Infinity Ward saying that Treyarch has good online security where they can monitor cheats etc(this was when IW realized that MW2 was completely broken online). Not really sure if Treyarch really do have the tools for this type of stuff.

No its been reported the banning in black ops is not so effective. They just ban your psn account. So make a new PSN account, delete your /game folder and you are good to go.
