the PSVR is pretty cheap too, but i don't have a PS4 so i guess i'm shit out of luck.
Are the options to use it on PC not suitable for task? Looking around at some of the writeups on how to do it I was given the impression you could actually get something like a usable/relevant experience from it.

I used the move controllers, ps3 cameras, and my phone, and I was able to play HL:Alyx.

I'm going to go with Quest because you don't need a PC and the experience is fantastic. Then, if you have a PC, you'll have access to PCVR this month, but even if you don't, you'll have access to beat sabre, chat, and a slew of other cool features.
