It's not that unrealistic, actually... assuming an accomodating console (ie almost every check on the received ticket/tmd/content disabled, which I'm not sure about current state of the art)Yeah mate, because it's that simple. /s
Maybe PlaiCDN, FunKeyCIA, and derivatives were an inside jobTo be honest it was crazy people could download games directly from Nintendo servers as much they wanted. When i first got my 3DS i was actually in disbelief people could do that without strings.
Yeah who would have guessed they'd move to protect their investment on a brand new console...It's crazy to see Nintendo going so crazy on piracy lately. The paradise website's down, CDN is becoming strict. Guess the only thing that really made everything easier for piracy to exist on the Switch was the Tegra vulnerability. Maybe if it wasn't for that we wouldn't have gone as far as we went on the scene.

They're doing this because people abused the far more secure CDN on the Switch, where they can actually outright superban you beyond repair and as a consequence Nintendo developed a bunch of security tools to fight it. There they can (and have been) revoking the core of the tls handling which is the console certificate but CDNSP-bob keeps changing it to other provided certs, so now we can watch Nintendo go nuclear.
If I were them I'd be tired of this shit and start banning tls permissions on any certificate caught pirating period. The reason the tls wasn't revoked immediately was because they wanted to at least keep people with an easily patchable/working system but now that it's being abused, I don't see Nintendo not just saying "fuck you" at this point.
People being stupid with the Switch is going to affect everything, and since 3DS is already Horizon, doing this is only logical. This is the first and easiest domino for them to knock over. Now we just have to wait and see how they shut down CDNSP, and it won't be pretty when they do decide to do it.
Is this only for the latest update? Or does thai effect everyone on every cfw?Yeah, it's slowly but surely blocking more titles, even USA titles now.
Some stuff I've seen 403 errors on now:
- Fire Emblem Series Games
- Kirby Series Games
- Animal Crossing Games
- Super Mario Games
I give it 24 hours or so before the whole server is returning 403 for non-free titles.
This is all server side. It doesn't matter what OFW nor CFW you are using. Is this only for the latest update? Or does thai effect everyone on every cfw?
There are other ways already. It's just that you cannot use their servers anymore.Hackers will just find other ways like how it was on Xbox 360.
If we look at history, stuff that Nintendo is doing right now, other corporations or empires who have used draconian type rules on countries, eventually it comes back and bites em.
You mean like CIAs and FBI? The way we used to use before freeShop?Hackers will just find other ways like how it was on Xbox 360.

another troll? GET LOSTI'm glad nintendo finally stepped up and fixed their security. GG nintendo.
How was that a troll? A security screwup as big as allowing this freeshop lark is almost unprecedented and if it is not then barring slight comparisons to the 360 XBLA stuff I am going to have to go back very far to see anything like it (like 90s "we just got this internet lark so my big company will public face everything" far back).another troll? GET LOST
