I won't be able to play this sadly, I cracked my own DS last month (while recording Tempcast 13) and now my Mrs DS has died for some reason and I can't find the receipt. At least it gives me the chance to finish the many others on other systems.

QUOTE(nin10do @ Oct 13 2008, 08:57 PM) castlevania = awesomeness.

i tried playing the psp version recently and yeah sure it looks pretty but just doesn't have the same feel as the DS version.
Yeah same here, apart from the fact that I hate the look. The original versions are in there and play really well.
PSP version was more for the oldschool players.

But I'm all in for a new metroidvania!

Every DS game was basically SotN but with different plots & scenarios.

i like dawn of sorrow better. PoR was a step back.

Im sure to play this game tho. seems pretty awesom.

Order of Ecclesia will be completely different from DoS and PoR.

look at the characterdesign:

it looks really cool and creepy. it won't have this anime style like the previous ones. i like the anime style but this new one looks cooler, imo

EDIT: @Hadrian: jep and the 3 GBA games were the same

Which was okay imo, games are pretty addictive and have been my favorite series on DS.

Just hope they have more than 10% of new enemies this time.

Oddly suspicious, considering the recent unveiling of the DSi.

I prefer Metroidvanias too,the Classic ones are kinda boring in my opinion(Except for Bloodlines for the Genesis, that one is awesome)
Loved the Glyph system(And the fact that you can put one in each hand,or even the same in both hands, what enable some continuous attacks)
I would buy this game but this month we are receiving lots of good games for every gaming system,so I have to choose which ones I'm buying and which ones I'm downloading lol

mastermanna123, do you really think anyone will attempt to read your posts with an avatar and signature like that!?

BTW I am going to download this game, and if I don't like it, I am going to delete it

Much agree. Other than the 2-character interaction, the game really wasn't all-that. I liked the over-the-top bosses in DoS much better, but then that one was annoying with the touchscreen bits.

What I really hope is that OoE isn't as flaky with flashcarts as PoR was.

OoE has received great score in previews, I can see faint glowing light of joy in my heart when this is dumped!

Which will take another week, which will be the exact same time when my exam starts :\

Please buy this game. 2D Castlevania is on the endangered species list.

I plan to buy,but not this month...better,not this year

October,November and December are full of good games, even the first months of 2009 have some good games(KZ2,SF4 and RE5,maybe even others)

Only one more week, can't wait for it. I'm a sucker for 2D-Metroidvania. I will definitly buy it like I bought the last two for DS.

You just gave me all the incentive I need NOT to buy this game. Though I love the side-scrolling Castevania formula, I would like to see at least the characters and monsters become 3D. And they need to update their system and style for the backgrounds as well. That boxy, gothic thing is played...so, so played.

Man.. fuck that. You know how terrible 3D looks on the DS. 2D is still kicking ass though, kicking it hard! Check Muramasa on Wii for example: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/41056.html

Even though i've pladed dos (fav game on ds) and por (worst piece of shit on ds) i dont think i'll bother for this either. The fact people have made a countdown means two things.

1. Its popular, which inturn means it suck, inturn making it overated.
2. It reminds me off those other "must have" ds games that fail, hard (n+, linerider?)

If it works, why fix it?!

I can bet you'll find much more people that would rather play 2D Castlevania, with already confirmed formula, than 3D Castlevania with some new styles or stuff..

I'm really looking forward to this game, I played both DS Castlevanias, and I LOVED both of them..

Well, you're probably right in that there are likely "much more people that would rather play 2D Castlevania." I just don't happen to be one of them.

Anyway, in the same way a Wendy's Double Stack ain't broke, I don't want to eat that same shit everyday for lunch. Change is the spice of life, man. Keep the gameplay basically the same; update the rest of that shit to catch up with the new millennium. The 2D sprites look great from an artistic standpoint, but their movement is archaic. The movement of the main character, especially, would be so much more fluid with polygons. That's really the one thing that has never jived for me with the DS Castlevania games. They're great, but in many ways they're yesteryear. It's not something most folks want to hear or agree with, but it's my opinion.

Would love to see all the sprites become 3D, keep the backgrounds 2D, but update them with some new artwork, rather than keep recycling that same gothic thing. Something more organic would be nice for a change.
