Hello,

Last year I got a Wii from a friend who didn't use it because it was 'broken'.

I thought I could fix it, so he gave it to me so I could try to fix it and use it eventually. My game library is pretty big, but since I can't get used to the poor graphics that Wii games have on my Wii U and HD TV, I want to play my Wii games on an oldskool TV.

The problem is, the Wii says it cant read discs via the disc channel. My games ar all original, no backups. At first I thought it might be dust, but cleaning the disc drive didn't have any effect.

When I got it, the firmware version was 4.3. I think the previous owner (my friend bought it second hand) has installed some kind of chip in it (like a Wii key) and after my friend updated it with some newer games, it blocked the chip.

Now I installed homebrew channel and tried some things like GeckoOS and Neo Gamma, but they all can't read the games. Neo Gamma gives 'DISC err(03023a00). '

I thought downgrading might work, so I downgraded to 4.1, but still no effect.

Hopefully somebody can help me to fix this problem, if it even is fixable. I'd just like to play original games. No back up discs or games via USB Loaders (wich probably will work).

Thanks :)

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
@Xdqwerty you can use a "spawner" function on any object.

Or when your player dies, you can say in code, if enemy exists, do nothing, but if enemy does not exist, then create enemy at certain spot. (This would be a pain tho for lots of emeies)

Easiest, simple way would be just restart scene, but player would restart from beginning.
