Gaming Can't play legit copy of Mario Galaxy 2?

I have IOS56 installed (v5405), but I still can't play my legit copy of SMG2. When I try to load the disc, it says a system update is available. What do I need to update to make this go away? I've also run Pimp my Wii to ensure that my stuff is up to date. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It's probably got a stub of IOS249 on it. Don't install the updates. Load the game through Gecko OS.

Thanks. Using Gecko OS worked, but is there a way to update my Wii so that I can launch from the disc channel without it wanting to update? If not, no big deal, I'm just lazy.

My question regarding this is, do I just install it and that's that?

I remember when softmodding my Wii a few months ago, I had to copy an IOS somewhere else, install something else, then copy stuff back.

Has the process changed lately?
