Okay, even when running from the drive, it's still horribly slow...any way to speed it up? It takes maybe a minute after I press "start" for the game to actually get to the menu, and the music is messed up.

If it's DM Lite, then it'll run from SD. If it's regular DM, it'll run from USB. Try downgrading to 2.4 again and make sure the drive is the way we established earlier. It might have went back after the format.
Pretty sure the same wads apply for the versions.

I'm using the Dios Mios booter, and yes, I am using the most recent version, I think. 3.0 or something like that.
AHA! Reformatting the SD to 32k cluster and Optimizing the .iso made it run beautifully!
