You will always hear from those that were negatively affected first. I did two with the 2.1 method and 2 with the new OTPless. All worked without a single hitch. Each user should do as they see fit, since it's their money and hardware.
The two people that bricked did nothing wrong at all.
Was there something in the guide that said verify your SD card with H2testw before proceeding with Part 3? If not then you can hardly blame the users for their bricks. As far as they could tell they did everything perfectly.Woo, two bricks due to people not reading and/or not using decent sd cards. You can literally buy a 16gb first party card for less than $10 on amazon. There is no excuse to bricking due to using a shady sd card. If you are going to attempt something you don't understand too well, read it more than once, ask questions etc.
It is true though. Go read those two threads, people checked all the things they could have done wrong.That's what they say;
The guide should include this, yes. Still though, why are people using shady sd cards to do modifications to their consoles?Was there something in the guide that said verify your SD card with H2testw before proceeding with Part 3? You should not use fake SD cards for ANYTHING. People need to stop buying SD cards online. "WOOHOO 256 GB for only $10!? What a great deal!"Was there something in the guide that said verify your SD card with H2testw before proceeding with Part 3?
I was actually able to do it last week on my New 3DS XL so I didn't have to downgrade to 2.1When Safea9lhinstaller isn't actually safe.
this method is still too new to be included in the guide. it needs more testers. 2 3DSes already bricked now.
https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-3-(A9LH)Can someone link me to this guide for otpless a9lh installation
Use 2.0.3, but, since we already knowm the cause of OTPless brick, I think we don't need to go back.Is it even possible to do a standard OTP install on a n3DS with the latest installer version or do you have to downgrade to v2.0.3 of the a9lh installer?
Probably because the bug has been fixed nowhttp://gbatemp.net/threads/poll-otpless-brick-ratio.444575/
Here's a little poll to see how otpless is really faring.
Looking pretty good for the team otpless so far.
