Hacking Can I update??

I'm on 11.8.0-41U and would like to update to version 11.13.0-45 I'm being prompted to but don't want to lose the homebrew and luma and all that. Is there a way to do it? I searched for it but probably didn't search the right thing because it just gave me old threads about updating from versions of way back... Sorry if this is a repeat question

Any tips on how to get this to the latest version so I don't have to worry about my wife or kids clicking update rather than cancel?

Download the latest version of Luma3DS and replace your current "boot.firm" with the new one
https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/releases
Then update your system like normal.

What do I do if I was downloading this 3ds cia for my 2ds but I didn't realize it was from git hub and that it said something a an 8.3 version. So when I inserted my SD card back into the 2ds I installed the cia and then I was going to go back to home menu it said something about an error with the download about not compatible. Then it shutdown and would only turn on for a second and turn back off . If I take my SD card It works but when I insert the SD card it would only flicker a blue light. Can u help me out
