I'm wondering if you give me below channel.

00010002-48414141 HAAA (System channels) v65280 (Use IOS 13)
(HAAA is Photo Channel 1.0 but v65280 acts different)

This is the channel that installed in wii which preinstalled photo channel 1.1

I find that preinstalled wii consist of real photo channel 1.1 + HAAA v65280(consist of 1 file. it just act like a forwarder. not a real channel.)

and upgraded wii consist of real photo channel 1.1 + photo channel 1.0 + HAZA (it also just act like a forwarder. not a real channel)
HAZA is different from HAAA. HAAA is system channel so it can't delete in data management, but HAZA is regarded as a game channel so it can delete in data management.

if you upgrade photo channel 1.0 to 1.1 and revert to 1.0, the data of photo channel 1.1 will remains in your wii.
you just deleted forwarder.

therefore if install only photo channel 1.1, photo channel icon isn't seen in wii menu.

photo channel 1.0(only ~v3. not v65280), 1.1 is available in NUS
and HAZA is availabie in this link *removed*

I think that HAAA can be extracted in preinstalled wii.

Its Wii channels, not Wii shop games.
Doesn't make it any less copyrighted. You CAN provide a way to download them directly from ninty's server IIRC (like Modmii) but I don't think you can rehost them. I think you can't upload IOS's either.

Strange, I don't remember of a rule where Wii .wad files are illegal.

Its a Wii channel, not a game channel. If Wii Flow is also legal as a .wad here on GBATemp, then Photochannel is also legal.
Wiiflow = homebrew
Photo Channel = made by Ninty
There's a difference, you know.

Hmm, I geuss this is somewhat true.
Still this board prohibits posting copyrighted material.
So any dump of official nintendo .wad files is considered crossing the rules.
Dumping Nintendo games wad files its the one that should cross the rules, because its piracy, dumping your own channel to help a user isn't piracy.

Oh, come on, it's RIGHT in the rules.

"Warez" - ROMs, WADs & ISOs

"Warez" is an internet term used to describe copyrighted software, game, film, music and data piracy.

  • We DO NOT HOST or PROVIDE ROMs/WADs/ISOs; or link to websites that do contain ROMs/WADs/ISOs.

Strange, I had mods which uploaded some GBA patches and homebrew roms and they are mods, ok.

I guess I gotta ask the admins then.
If it does not contain copyrighted material ( code ) it's not against the rules.
Do you have a hard time understanding, or a hard time following rules?

I have a hard time understanding your amazing statement because he's not even posting game wads
He's posting copyrighted material.
These "rules" are also to prevent GBA Temp being taken down.
There's also something like the "law".

For further info I suggest contacting an actual moderator.

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
