Hacking Can I access the eshop without updating?

I'm still on 4.1.0, haven't decided on installing any of the hacks available yet, is it possible to access the eshop but not update my console?

I wanted to get the free packs for Xenoblade X to make things run better / look better before getting the game, if I can't access the eshop would there be another way to get this onto my Wii U?

Unfortunately, no. Nintendo recently introduced this check of your system version whenever you try to access anything online linked with your NNID.

Edit: I thought this was the 3DS section xD I've no idea what to do here. Sorry!

All the hacks made so far are working on 5.3.2
