Call of Duty: Ghost Confirmed as "Next Generation of Call of Duty."

Activision Officially confirmed today Call of Duty: Ghost for this year. The confirmation came from its Twitter account.

No other details were revealed on twitter but *update* the reveal has now happened*
Confirmed Call of Duty: Ghosts will use a Next-Gen/New Engine, will have a new story and new characters. Its also explained why not MW4 as some people were expecting.

Retailers Amazon and Gamestop are accepting preorders of the game already.

Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg said: "Infinity Ward set the gold standard for first-person action for a generation, and they're going to do it again with Call of Duty: Ghosts.
"Ghosts delivers an all-new story, all-new characters, an all-new Call of Duty world, all powered by a next generation Call of Duty engine, which is a leap forward for the franchise. Infinity Ward is going all-in to create the next generation of Call of Duty worthy of the world's greatest fans."
Infinity Ward executive producer Mark Rubin added: "Everyone was expecting us to make Modern Warfare 4, which would have been the safe thing to do. But we're not resting on our laurels.
"We saw the console transition as the perfect opportunity to start a new chapter for Call of Duty. So we're building a new sub-brand, a new engine, and a lot of new ideas and experiences for our players. We can't wait to share them with our community."

Apparently this won't be coming to the WiiU according to retailers. Which is dumb, Activision is butthurt about Blops 2 on WiiU and it's sales, so now they won't be releasing the new games for it either?

Now, I'm not a fancy big city lawyer,

But I can't see a justifiable reason for them being upset. They released it on a brand new console, that's cool. But to give a half assed copy to WiiU owners and expect them to be all happy and support them every step of the way is stupid, and borderline retarded on Activision's part.

Yeah but if you really want support for the game and have all DLCs earlier you should get it on the Xbox720. Also with the "Next Generation Engine" in which this CoD will run it will be better on PS4/Xbox720

I'm pretty sure Devs/Publishers, Microsoft, Sony, etc will make you jump to the Next Gen.

I don't understand why people say that "I wont gonna get a next gen console for like 5 years or so"
In 5-6 years from now there will be another Gen.
