Blazblue Cross Tag Battle has been previously revealed to release having only 20 characters available for the base game and 20 for DLC. Most of this news has been met with controversy and backlash from people who think that it would be an expensive fighting game to obtain all content. To put players at ease, details for the pricing of the content has been recently revealed by the producer.

  • The base game will cost players $50 for both the physical and digital versions of Cross Tag Battle.
  • Like the Japanese breakdown, the DLC will be bundled into six packs of three characters each plus the free Blake and Yang DLC. Each pack costs $5 though there is the option to buy the "Character Collection" containing all of the packs for $20
  • The first character pack containing Kanji, Orie, and Platinum the Trinity will be free to download for the first two weeks after the game launches and a "Digital Deluxe" edition of the game will be available for $70 including all of the content mentioned above.
Some additional statements was made including a apology regarding some of the dislike for not being clear on the Blake Belladonna character reveal trailer.

Our first mistake was announcing Blake as DLC before saying she was free, but because of so many events late last year and early this year, we wanted to announce things little by little...That caused confusion and Arc is very sorry for that.

Additional statements regarding positive feedback for the fans worrying about the Nintendo Switch version of the game, most of which seems like the game will be giving players a smooth experience equal to the Playstation 4 counterpart as well as expressed interest in potentially more games for it.

We are having some trouble, but mostly because it’s a new console. But we planned to release on the Switch in the beginning, so there was always R&D taking place. One of the key concepts for Cross Tag Battle was to play a fighter using a gamepad. The Switch allows that but in order to provide the full experience we had to make sure it would run well. I’ve been playing the game on Switch at my office and it’s running smoothly and really fun to play on the Switch. For future games it is a possibility for us.

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle is set to release on May 31 in Asia and June 5 in North America for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
