Since there aren’t any instructions on the internet that show how to get all dlc working including Tekken Tunes on the actual ps3 console here’s my take: You NEED the US version (i did this without deleting my current update and install files but feel free to delete yours and start from scratch (as I’m sure that’s the more appropriate way of doing this):

Use a copy of BLUS31002

get music dlc pkgs and their respective rap files for the USA version of Tekken Tag 2

install the USA music pkg dlc files and activate raps with psnpatch/reactPSN

install Tekken Tag 2 BLES01702 v1.01 pkg (it unlocks all stages, characters and the bikini dlc. basically all the free dlc that was given away in the Tag 2 updates)

start Tekken Tag 2 and let it update to 1.03, quit once you get to the main menu

use ftp or multiman to copy eboot.bin from dev_hdd0/game/BLES01702/USRDIR and paste it in dev_hdd0/game/BLUS31002/USRDIR. Click yes when it asks to overwrite

start the game and all the characters, music, stages and bikinis should be there(even if it complains about dlc not being usable after loading your save). I’m sure you can install the music pkgs at any point but I’m just giving the order I did this in. If you care for the dlc videos just grab the pkgs and install them too, I didn’t because I don’t really care for them. Also not sure if the snoop dog stage gets unlocked when you paste the eboot.bin because i used the snoop dog dlc stage pkg while i was experimenting, you could always just do that if for some reason. The eboot.bin is basically update 1.01 that we ‘stole’ from the EU version

But why go through all this trouble if character pack a and b, plus bikini dlc pkgs for the US version are available?

Because the dlc stages don’t unlock unless you use update 1.01 aka eboot.bin in our case since the actual BLUS31002 1.01 pkg is nowhere to be found (at least to my knowledge). And using an EU copy of TT2 with the All DLC ver EUR pkg that’s been floating around the internet doesn’t even unlock the music when you follow the instructions on these guides I’ve been seeing. Plus the actual EU music dlc pkgs are nowhere to be found on the internet, just the videoclip dlc pkgs are readily available

Yes I know you can add your own music with a usb but I highly doubt the sound quality would be the same, plus who wants to track down all those mp3s? or whatever format it uses :nayps3:

man I suck at formatting:wub:

This is kinda hacky and not needed anymore.

Actually all the DLCs (with music & movies) are available for EU/US in PSN No-intro. Some are unfortunately not named for the EU version, just search "BLES01702" through the database.

N****station also has it (check the pending tab for the missing EU ones - Music pack).

To get this working :
  1. Install all DLCs pkg for your region (1.03 + movies + music + etc...)
  2. Use a completed save for your region or connect to the PSN
  • Real PS3 : Encrypted save or connect to the PSN
  • rpcs3 : Decrypted save

Use Apollo Save Tool to decrypt save from real PS3

Why is a full save needed ? The free DLCs were all unlocked as soon as you connect to the PSN ingame, that step can't be reproduced in rpcs3.

Hey, could you or anyone drop a save file with the DLCS? I cant get them to load and there are barely any saves online (none of which are specific to BLUS31002 and they just give failed save loads)

hey guys - i managed to get TTT2 working with all the DLC - at least the ones relevant to gameplay aka characters, stages. this can be used for competitive play.
the version i am using is NPEB01140, the european HDD version of the game.

attached to this post are two files - one of them is "decrypted" data that works on RPCS3 for netplay, the other is for a real PS3, & as such needs to be resigned to your own TTT2 save for this to work.

in order to get the RPCS3 save working on a real ps3, i did the following:
- install TTT2 EU HDD version (NPEB01140) & its 1.01 update, & the relevant RAP file
- run the game once, let it create save data. quit out at the main menu. you will have no DLC charas, you can check this on the character select screen.
- use FTP to make a backup of the original save data
- FTP the RPCS3 save data to the home\00000001\savedata\NPEB01140_AUTO directory of dev_hdd0 on the ps3, overwriting the original save data
- start up apollo save tool, navigate to your TTT2 save under HDD saves. using "view save details" you will see that the user, account & PSID are blank, & trying to modify things results in a "failed to resign" error.
- use the "decrypt save game files" option to individually decrypt each .BIN file in the list. some of these seem unnecessary (see below for more info)
- FTP the original save data back to the ps3 (you can do this whilst apollo is still running)
- use the "import decrypted save files" option to import each .BIN file back into the encrypted save. you can confirm the save data is now properly resigned by using 'view save details" & confiming the user, account & PS IDs
- quit apollo & test for DLC charas by looking at the character select screen
- all done!

now i presume if you want to skip all these steps, you could very simply find some way to resign the ps3 save file that i've provided. i know there exist many tools to do this (bruteforce, apollo etc) but i never managed to get the game past the initial "now loading" screen without copying back a legitimate, untouched save. trying to use modified PARAM.SFOs or otherwise always seemed to break something.

i went down the path of trying to use "completed" saves found online, but even though i managed to transfer their data accross & get the game running on ps3, the DLC charas were not unlocked at the character select screen. this gives me the impression that the key step that was necessary in replacing the part of the savedata responsible for unlocking DLC must be present in replacing one (or maybe a few) of the BIN files with the decrypt/encrypt method on apollo. i'd be curious to know which file specifically needs to be updated for this to work, as that would put this mystery to bed, probably accross multiple versions of this game. i noticed some strange patterns with the way the game generates its savedata, with a lot of files being inconsistent or non-present between save data. the filename structures observable within the directory tells me that there are constantly new files prepended with 05 & 08 added to the directory as the game is played, i would presume this is something like per-match data - fight money, game stats, something like that. a fresh save data doesn't seem to contain any files starting with 05 or 08. either way, i believe the way to narrow down which file is in charge of DLC would be to install each decrypted file into a working save one-by-one, exiting out of apollo & checking the TTT2 character select screen each time. somebody else can definitely work this out, but i'm not particularly bothered by it, as i now have a working TTT2 save on both RPCS3 & a real ps3.

another thing i am curious about - more to do with the game than the save data/DLC, but i am curious to confirm if this HDD 1.01 version is the latest version of TTT2. in order to confirm this, it would be a bit more demanding on player knowledge - a veteran from the TTT2 era would have to know which moves or things got patched between versions, & then test against the different versions. at the moment, i can't even find any complete or seemingly up-to-date frame data for this game, otherwise i would confirm it myself. the only resource for that i have found is the avoiding the puddle blog - that doesn't seem to cover all the characters & i'm not sure if it's up to date. rbnorway doesnt seem to display ttt2 frame data at all anymore. personally i believe 1.01 is the last version of the game, as it fits in with what i recall from legitimately owning the game on PSN back in the day.

cheers all & hope this helps whoever is stuck on this

Sometimes it hits the spot because a no-frills, lower quality hamburger sounds better than a nice fancy one, and sometimes it hits the spot because you're hungry and you can get it fast and cheap
