Hi people,
have been downloading something big with bitcomet. Filesize 48 gigs!
I was around 56.3%, than I wanted to delete another torrent from task, and this one got removed from task
frown.gif
.

I downloaded the torrent again, and did hash check, and it showed 55%. Its continueing to download it, with 300-400 kbps for about 5 hours, but still showing 55% as downloaded...

Is it downloading everything all over again? If thats the case, I could just give the download fresh start....
That never happend to me before :'(

Note: I restarted my PC, restarted Bitcomet, I did everything possible. Its showing that its downloading with 300 kbps, and no progess at all with the percentages or single file percentages induvidually, they are all the same they were...

BitComet is the problem. It's the worst p.o.s. bit torrent program created.

This is what I use: bittornado.com

It's one of like 4 programs accepted on a private tracker I use. The other 3 being Utorrent, Azuerus, and something for Macs.

Well yeah I will after this...
cant afford downloading that all over again...

but my question is:

Is bitcomet now downloading everything all over again, or what is happening?
Its still showing 55%, BUT when I viewd the files induvidually, one of the files were 13% before, now that file is 15%.
Really confused..

You can load up the .torrent into µtorrent, and tell it not to start. Change the save location to where the 55% is, and force a re-check.

Bitcomet uncompleted files are saved as: *.bitcomet uncompleted files.
Will it work?
Havent got enough space free on the harddrive, to copy paste and check.
987 gigs full...

BUT:
If you have tried it before and if it worked, I will just cut and paste everything in the µtorrent download folder.

go to the prefs in bitcomet and undo "save as .bitomet" or whatever. then use your new client to save to the location of the 55% done file. it will hash check and continue as normal.

HECK!
Now uTorrent is telling 10.1% after checking.
Later on, tried on bitcomet, it says 10.1 aswell...
So got f***** up.

All I can do is start over, waste of 2 full days...

it probably really was only 10%
bit comet is terrible. it downloads false data at an alarming rate and so will give false completed percentage.

It sure wasnt 10...
A lots of the episodes were already 100%, (about 21 episodes were finshed), and I played them, works fine.
Also bitcomet wasnt that bad, am using for very long, that was the first problem encounterd up to now. Also it was my fault and not bitcomets, for clicking on the wrong task..

Anywayz, thanks.

Started over, and gues what, am getting 763 kbps. Connected to webseeders =)

OK, now its somehow showing me 56.3% on utorrent again...

But utorrent is not connecting to any webseeds. Is there any manual settings for it or what?
Everything is actually configured corectly, half open ports, dht reachable port etc.

If that continues with that speed(20 kbps) it will take me weeks to get finished...
(Thats why I never used uTorrent before.)

utorrent isn't the reason for slow speeds. if anything bitcomet was slowing you down more than anything because it's inability to detect false data (hence why it's banned from 1337 private trackers

)

if you have everything set up correctly, there's nothing else you can do except hope the seeds start seeding..or get a usenet account.

Yah,
encryption is enabled. Thats why I always say, never got speed with big files.
Connected to lots of peers, but not getting any speed. Bitcomet is giving me 400 kilo bytes(but as said, percentage not going up...).

Also everything is set up correctly + I have usenet account, coudnt find those anywhere except as torrent

After this...stop using Bitcomet. Its complete crap. We aren't just being preachy, we are teaching you the "best" way to get torrents. Nevermind the fact that you won't be using crapware anymore.

Yah right..
From yesterday till today, there is only 2% more than before with µtorrent...
I will download it with any other torrent client.
What can you guys suggest other than µtorrent?

IMO µtorrent is more settings dependant... and even though I have everything set up properly I dont get speed.
With Azureus, no luck either.
The only reason I used bitcomet is, because I always got my max. speed with Bitcomet, and had no trouble up to now.

So what do you guys think of the official bittorrent client or Bitlord?
