Hey, I'm just wondering the best way to update to System Menu 4.0 and install Preloader (or any other hack) to allow region free from boot?
My plan is to install cIOS Rev10 before updating, use the official Nintendo update (is it better to use Waninkoko's 4.0 and then repatch IOS60?) and then install Preloader 0.29 with the included Hacks.ini. Will this work, or is there a safer way to do it? Also, which Preloader hacks do you recommend I use to ensure this is reasonably safe?

This is for a PAL Wii currently running 3.2
    Thanks in advance. [IMG]

Do you think that the official Nintendo upgrade is better than a custom?

Why the hell would you make a custom update that's worser than the official?!

Follow these steps to install fw 4.0 without losing functions:

    1. Install cios_rev9 or rev10
    2. Run Waninikoko's 4.0 updater
    3. Install IOS 60 and confirm the patch, do not install the shop channel (it's inlcuded with the 4.0 updater).
    4. Install Preloader 0.29 and enable the region free hacks in systemmenu hacks.

If you enable these hacks you can play backup games with cioscorp without nagging about updates and region crap.

    - Region Free Channels
    - Skip Game Updates
    - Remove NoCopy Protection
    - Region Free SD Channels
    - Region Free Games
    - Move Disc Channel
    - Skip update check
    - Skip disc update check

I did it with CIOS9, the official Nintendo Update and the patched IOS60. Then I installed Preloader 0.29.

    Everything works fine.

    Location, location, location.
be warned tho: if youre gonna install cioscorp, make sure you have a working preloader installed BEFORE you install cioscorp. (Itll brick, from which youll instantly recover by reinstalling Preloader).
