Well yes I agree , as a PC user but , I wanted to give a Wii for my Nephew , with some wiiware and Wii games , from an easy to use channel interface . He's only 7 , its a great first consoleNowadays when it comes to Wiiware us better to use an emulator on PC.

Install a USB loader channel. Then get a usb stick with about 32 gb and fill it with Gamecube games since the roms are smaller. You will need either a Gamecube controller or a clone. No matter the hack all the Gamecube games, as long as they are as the same region of the Wii, work. For something bigger the Wii usb port doesn't give you enough power so you will need an external hard disk with its own power cable, all in FAT 32 format of course.
Considering that he is 7 the usb stick is the better option. An external hard disk can be easily destroyed and is much more expensive to replace than a usb stick.
Flash drives can be problematic at times so why not just use a large SD card?
I use 128GB, 256Gb & 512GB SDXC cards when making Wii setups for people that just want certain games and not everything.
This way the card is nicely tucked away behind the front flip down door.
That can work perfectly, is just that 32 gb usb flash drives are kind of cheap nowadays.
With a 512GB SDXC you could fit around 225(ish) games on it.
Gamecube games are 1.5 GB I think?. But Wii games are 4 gb or more.
There really isn't 225 Gamecube games worth playing. You barely get to a hundred decent games, unless you count ports from previous Nintendo systems then is a bit more.

What about wii VC wiiware? Can that be installed via USB loader? I search this and it allways leads to uNeek/Sneek , which just is not working . Spent 2+ days playing around with it , Im done with it
What is your end goal with sneekIt would be really helpful if someone who has a working Sneek and/or Uneek Emulated NAND , to record the process from start to finish . I mean from an unhacked wii , to playing GC and Wiiware from SD/USB
I have previously hacked serveral wii's using the old skoll methods , bathaxx, letterbomb, and sucessfully played ISO's using USB backup loaders . Though I am starting to see the shortcombings of these methods , such as limited Nand and poor VC/Wiiware compatibliy . I have been reading about emulated nand emunand , which seems great on paper . with much better compatiblity with VC / Wiiware and Emulation
For the life of me , the SNEEK+UI options on Modmii are just not working . The Moddmii compiler seems incredibly easy ( almost too easy ) . I follow the simple steps , choose hack type (sNeek+DI) then wii version , build , optional extras checked then Copy files to SD
I insert the SD , I can install the Sneek Wad but it just will not load . No idea how to get this working .

Wiiware use usbloader to install
Steps are go to settings
Feature setting then down to dump nand and choose everthing
Once that completes in the featured settings right above dump nand is wad manager
Put all your wads (wiiware) into a folder on SD or usb and use the wad manger in usbloader to either install the whole folder at once or individual wads .

I don't think it matters if your installing onto an emulated nand.BEWARE THE WIIWARE HAS TO BE THE SAME REGION AS YOUR WII OR YOU COULD BRICK EVERYTHING.
So, what emulator runs Wiiware the best on PC, Dolphin?
As long as you have priiloader or bootmii installed as boot2 u can recover from any potential banner bricks from installing bad wads. U can install wiiware from other regions no problem, there's even priiloader hacks for region free everything.
No, a nand backup (while always advisable to have), is not necessary to recover from a banner (or theme) brick if u have bootmii as boot2 or priiloader installed. U can use either to launch the homebrew channel and launch a wad manager or any title deleter to remove the offensive channel (or theme) and recover without a nand backup.ONLY IF YOU MADE A BACKUP FIRST!
But yes, is no big deal nowadays.
