Hi, xflak

perhaps I'm stupid but I've been trying to play my backup wii games on my "new" wii console for 4 days now.
At first I softmodded it using some youtube tutorial, I installed everything as I should, the USBloadergx showed me the games on my usb but when I pressed Start the screen went black for a couple of seconds and then it said error occured - shut down the console.
So yesterday I softmodded the console again - this time with ModWii, I did everything as showed in your guide, everything went smoothly but when I attempted to start a game from my usb, the same thing happened.

It is FAT32 formatted and I injected the files via WiiBackupManager. I also used 3 different USB sticks.

I'm just tired, I've been reading forums for 4 days and nothing seems to help me.

Do you (or anyone really) have any experience with the solutions that helped people. What am I doing wrong perhaps?

Shoot your wisdom at me, I'm willing to try anything at this point.

Thank you for answers

Do u also have an SD card in the wii? If so, the HBC will display those apps by default. Press 1 inside the HBC to select to view the contents of your fat32 hard drive instead (I'm pretty sure it's 1, if not try 2).

If that doesn't solve it, and you're certain you formatted your hdd properly as fat32 then it is likely a compatibility issue and you suggested. If it's a pen/flash drive those often have issues with the wii.

Edit: sharing a syscheck couldn't hurt either as @scooby74029 suggested

Hello guys, thank you for your help

I tried changing apps displayed by hbc to USB but that didn't help. However it is possible that my problem is caused by using usb sticks instead of a hard drive.

Hello

Test your games with an external hard drive.

In the parameters of your Loader, put the CIOS 250 and test.

the USB keys work poorly with the wii (black screen).

The DVD drive works, I have a few original games I got for christmas with the new wii and they play just ok.

Ok, so I guess I'll try to buy some external hard drive then. Hope it will work.

Thanks for all of your advices guys and happy new year

I am trying to create the latest ModMii 6.4.9 installation disk.

Problem is that when its downloading the required files for the SD card I get "Some Downloads are invalid, Missing or were Not uploaded properly. Click Next to Retry" Tried Next a few times with same error. Can't continue. Only other option is Cancel. Is it safe to cancel and continue with the installation Guide?
If so can someone point me to where I can download the missing files?

The log window shows

USB Loader GX Invalid
* 1 of 62 file(s) are Invalid, Missing or were Not Updated properly

ModMii 6.5.0 Released

6.5.0 Changelog:
  • Updated MD5 for latest USBLoader GX released in Dec 2018. Also changed download link to always download r1271 as opposed to most recent release to avoid potential unstable releases.
  • Updated YAWMM to the modified rev5e version from the Complete Softmod Guide that supports Motion+ remotes, AHBPROT and WiiU (vWii).

XFlak... just wanted to thank you for this awesome tool! I modded a lot of Wiis back-in-the-day when everything was done manually. I just hacked two consoles last week for the first time in years and used ModMii to do them. So much easier to do now!! Thanks!! --Rick

Not sure if this has changed in the latest update. With 6.4.9 when you choose to install all 3 USB loaders (Configurable USB Loader, USBLoaderGX & WiiFlow). Only Configurable USB Loader is added to the launch menu. I had to manually find the forwarder channels for all the other USB loaders and manually install them. Even though they were all downloaded by ModMii. I read somewhere that the only the first one it finds in the list is used.

Also an installer option to choose between installing WiiFlow and the newer WiiFlow Lite USB loader

The forwarder channel installed by ModMii is not associated with any specific USB loader. It will load all of them, but obviously one has to be first and one has to be last. The path list will be in your modmii guide with your list of wads. If u delete or rename some of the first names in the list it will make its way down to whatever you want to launch. Or heck you can build a new forwarder dol using ModMii's Advanced Download page to launch whatever you want, then inject it into the forwarder wad using customize mii for windows from modmii's download page 2.

I've not heard of wii flow lite but I wouldn't hold my breath for an option to choose between wii flow and the lite version. If lite's better if anything I could replace the original with it.

And lastly, I never updated MMM, wish I could but can't find the source code. You might be thinking of yawmm.

stop right there! until XFlak confirms your particular case works for vwii

Modmii is never meant to be use with vWii. Installing random Wii files to vWii can brick your vWii.

With emulated Nand there's not much risk to whatever you to, to my knowledge the same logic applies to vwii. That being said a quick Google search led me to this http://www.hacksden.com/showthread.php/8119-Compiling-a-vWii-compatible-version-of-SNEEK

And if there's a vwii version of sneek, I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and assume that while it's probably not dangerous modmii's sneek builds won't have too much success on the vwii
