Oh memory stick, I have a sony 8gb magic gate hg duo, hx. It is supposedly fast, though I dont know. If not Sony, what brand would you recommend?

I might try ME then, since you said it doesn't have this problem...?

(I don't know what you mean by 'that's not the point', I was just trying to find out what 'MSPD' meant, I did think it was mem stick something, but I am not trying to argue with you dude, I really am listening to what you have to say.)

I could only find an old version of joysens, I did search google(startpage), where are you finding the newer versions?, as joysens would be good to have.

ME-------------> based on M33
Pro-------------> Prometheus.

about your first question you try the High Speed Ones by Sony or the Sandisk ones. but be careful there are many fakes and rip offs of memory sticks so you buy them smart, stability issues can be related to memory sticks.

and about the firmware, Pro is not better than ME nor Me is better than Pro just choose the one which is most suited to you :). you can try dual booting the firmwares. i'm a proud owner of Pro since the beginning of time.

And at last try this thread at wololo for any plugin you want for 6.xx http://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=7407

Wow, thanks for the links both of you, I have been finding the files in all-sorts of random places and broken links.

ME is based on M33, sold. Thanks for the great info.

I haven't tried ME yet, I thought Pro was for Pro's like me and ME was meh. lol. I get the feeling that this is actually how I chose between them...

Seeing that he has a 1st Gen PSP, I would advise that he buys a Pandora battery or makes one himself - then he'll be able to experiment to his heart's content. ;)

I'd like to add that ME is called ME for a reason - it's short for Minimum Edition as far as I remember. Pro does the same stuff ME does and more, plus, it comes in a convinient LCFW form, so it's installation and uninstallation is really a breeze.

It should be the firmware of choice for every PSP user by now, even though it is a bit bloated here and there. I'm still waiting for what the C version will have to offer, right now I'm running B10Fix1 and hell, am I happy with it! :D

After a few more trial and errors I got ME working with popsloader v4, I could also use Pro with v4, v3 is a no go for me.

Went to the psn store, no problem, got white knight chronicles.

Thanks again to rydian, foxi4 and alaude; just giving the update cause I won't be around while gaming and so I wanted to state my gratitude. PSP rocks once you get it all set-up.

I don't remember where I got it or what is was specifically, but when I couldn't get psx games to load on Prom I found a popsloader pack that autoadjusted itself based on the game you played. Suikoden 2 works for me on prom 6.39l, havn't gave it a full runthrough yet though.

Well I would have said m33-6 was the best rpg firmware as well. Until I exhausted every avenue trying to get FF8 to work without constant crashes.

I was tempted to update to pro but don't want to lose the 1.50 kernel ability as the snes emu I have runs much better under it - I believe it was specifically made for the 1.50 kernel. So pro does have some disadvantages sadly. And it's a big reason for me sticking with m33. Shame as I'd love to get FF8 working.

Hmmm, have to admit I've been out of the loop for ages. But the emu I'm using is the snestyl one? But they did a 1.5 version which did run much better than the regular one.

I'd update if I knew I could still run stuff like that, and at the speed I'm used to i.e seemingly full speed snes games :)

Well it has been a while but I now have scummVM with all the good lucas arts games, I have all Final Fantasy and Square titles (I don't remember many SNES games).

I have EVERY good RPG from the golden PSX days, many that were never released in my country. I have Oddworld, PAL GT2 and an awesome mini called Archibald's Adventures. I hope they release the second installment for PSP, if they ever get 'round to finishing the second installment.

I have Popsloader and Joysens working. Suikoden 1 and 2, Tales of Phantasia and Innocent Sin working with the translation patches. Tales of Destiny, Persona, Lunar, Legacy of Kain, Arc the Lad, Chrono Cross, Thousand Arms, Vagrant Stroy, Ogre Battle, Xenogears and more all working.

We will never see such a catalog ever again, shame on xbox and ps3. This is why I will never get a Vita, emulation and CFW is where it's at. I hope the Vita continues to sell record-breakingly poorly while Sony wonders why. Don't need Sony anymore anyways, they stopped making (licensing) worthwhile games a long time ago.

The PSP is the best console ever made, I have a fully refurbished 1000 on it's way (will have 2 total) and am hoping to get Growlanser and Digimon World Redigitised if they reach an English market.
Japan has an even better backlog of greatness.

Not.A.Chance.

Especially if you're an RPG lover....the PS2 totally destroys the collection you've listed, plus of course PS games are also playable on it.

I had 2 PS2's. I had Dragon quest 8 and FF12 were my favourite RPG's on PS2. Really can't thinlk of any others that lived up to PSX days. FFX was ok (x2 was bad) and XI sucked, I had a xenosaga rpg that sucked. Not much else made it to our shores, resulting in mod-chips being legal due to Sony's refusal to bring many titles here. Suikoden 3 also sucked (imported it).

I don't like how the art-style changed in the PS2 era, with FF12 and DQ8 being the only exceptions. Persona 4 sucked (still own it, will never get past 20 hours). Grandia on PS2 was bad. Star Ocean is so bad on PS2, a masterpiece on PSX. Seriously, so many games did so poorly once they went next-gen.

Just went over the RPG list for PS2 at gamespot. Darkcloud was good also, but otherwise NOTHING stands-out. IMHO I have to completely disagree with you. Not to mention the fact that PSP also has access to lucas arts games.

On PSX there are so many masterpieces.

Xbox 360 has Tales of Vesperia and probably 1 other game that is a worthwhile RPG, didn't like skyrim, star ocean was ok. Oblivion was ok. Fallout 3 is ok and Mass Effect isn't bad and is more like a war game. Tales of Vesperia is the only thing that really stood-out. Mostly 'ok's'.
PS3 has one game I wanted to try. FF13 is a tradgedy. and so is 14 BTW.

Dark Cloud wasn't that great actually...it's sequel was far superior.

And apart from a few classics the PS2 library hands down blows away the PSX RPG library. There are so many amazing RPG's that far eclipse the PSX's....there are a handful of cast iron classic RPG's on the PSX. It's being objective that matters....for instance playing Xenogears today is an AWFUL experience (even at the time it wasn't great)....however, Final Fantasy Tactics is still one of the greatest tactics games ever. And SO3 bad? Sure the twist was hamfisted but the game itself was excellently crafted....throw in your Valkyrie Profiles, your P3's, Tales of the Abyss, Rogue Galaxy, Radiata Story etc, etc, etc....and you have a better overall experience than the PSX.
