Every R4 you can buy now is a "Clone/Fake" The original R4 hasn't been made in years, and even the 1:1 versions are still clones. The R4i Gold we listed runs Wood, has almost perfect compatibility, and is the one almost everyone on here will recommend.

Moonshell can play videos iirc. Buy the card that @zoogie and @GreatCrippler suggested.

For watching videos you're better off with something on the 3DS-side, Moonshell requires videos to be converted to a weird format and you're limited to an awful 256x192 resolution. Not that 400x240 is great either, but it's a whole lot better.

Did you update the cards firmware? Should be instructions listed on the official webpage for the card on how to do so. Is likely just copy the corresponding firmware file to the root of your SD card and start it up. This guide may help you with updating your card if it's the same one, there are so many r4i clones.
