If it has no brand on it ... that's a big indicator.

There is a guide, on eBay somewhere, that shows you the different ways that legitimate cards are packaged by the manufacturers.

It has photos of how they should look, in their packaging.

Most cost-effecient one is 4G I believe, otherwise 8GB is the biggest one.
Basically ebay photos are different from the actual good a lot of the times. I'd rather pay a few more bucks and get it from a retail store offline.

Actually, SanDisk memory sticks are good and cheaper than Sony's. I had fake Sony 4GB, so I changed to SanDisk 4GB.

4GB prices are about the same, 8GB SanDisk is cheaper than 8GB Sony, I don't think there's a significant difference in terms of r/w speed.

Just get whatever you want, no big deal either way.

everywhere i go sandisk is always the best for psp, it has best read write speeds e.t.c sony 8gb seems to have problems with 3rd party homebrew stuff like cwcheat.

SanDisk released some color-coded memory sticks, to appeal to the PSP crowd ... each size of stick has it's own color.

That's about it.

so why are some websites charging £2 or £3 extra then? thats stupid :S

I think the colored ones come in a fancy little case thingy ... IIRC

To tell the truth i never noticed a slight difference between my original sandisk 2gb and my fake sony 4gb.

i've had my FAKE sony 4gb for quite some time and i 've noticed a LOT of changes since i brought it.

savegames show as a generic icon when in savegame menu.
when i try to delete a iso from the memory card via the computer it says "access denied" (until i refresh the browser)
it takes over 20 minutes to transfer a 1gb iso.
and the really annoying one is i can't update to 3.90 m33 because of the fake memory stick.
that's why i desperately need a new memory card ASAP when i get the cash, the fake 4gb will be used in the ps3 to transfer pictures e.t.c
