Hacking Backup Loader 0.3 Compatibility Thread

My games, all burnt with Verbatim DVD+R (DVD-ROM booktype) or DVD-R at 4x speed:


Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree (PAL): both patched and unpatched
Mario Kart Wii (PAL): patched
Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (PAL): both patched and unpatched
Resident Evil 4 (PAL): both patched and unpatched
Super Mario Galaxy (PAL): both patched and unpatched
We Love Golf (PAL): both patched and unpatched



Mario & Sonic at the OG (PAL): Eject disc and restart console error, both patched and unpatched
Okami (PAL): Eject disc and restart console error, both patched and unpatched

Hi,

I've tested these games and this is what I found - I have a PAL Wii and am using Tesco DVD-R discs.

Working Perfectly:-

FIFA 09 (PAL & Patched)
We Love Golf (PAL & Patched)
Boom Blox (PAL & Patched)

Slight Slowdown on Videos but much better than 0.1 Otherwise, perfect

Has anyone else had Mario Party 8 PAL (Forced NTSC) boot to green screen?

Barnyard locks up on first loading screen after wiimote strap on instruction. wiimote loses connection to wii and that its. hope this helps

EDIT: NTSC Wii Memorex DVD+r and Patched 3.3u

Does anyone have the cios files to download so we can install them from the sd card. If this is availavle surely we could easy install and uninstall both cios versions as requires to utilise both back up loader 0.1 and 0.3 to play games like the force unleashed that did work but do not on the new version.
Im sure the guys working on this new loader will firgure it out soon enough just a thought in the meantime.

Heres my feedback on the backup loader:

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (PAL + Patched): Loads up, but it comes up with "Eject Wii Disc And Switch Off The Wii".
It worked on 0.1

Warioware: Smooth Moves (PAL + Unpatched): Loads up, gets to the wiimote screen and then it says "Eject Wii Disc And Switch Off The Wii".
Doesnt work on 0.1

Wario Land: The Shake Dimension (PAL + Patched): Loads up, gets past everything perfectly, then the cutscene starts perfectly, but then starts to get slow and now it keeps crashing in the same place (When you see the girl), weriedly, when I first tried it, it got to the globe, but noe it always crashes when the girl appears. (That sometimes happened on 0.1, but I just tried loading it uo again, and usually it would get past the cutscene, on this I tried it 4 times and no luck.
Worked in 0.1 (It got through the cutscene, but it was much slower)

I'm not sure if the color will work...
I just wrote the text in publisher made them all red and copied them here, so it it doesnt work, they're all red.

on PAL 3.3E wii burnt on MAX speed using verbatim dvd-r

disaster day of crisis PAL patched - works, but could not load saved game (black screen freeze) 3-4 hours in the game.
secret files:tunguska PAL patched - perfect
fifa 2009 PAL patched - works, wifi works with slight lag
PES 2008 PAL patched - works, wifi did not work
mario charge soccer PAL patched - works, wifi is functioning
wiiski PAL patched - does not work, "Eject Wii Disc And Switch Off The Wii"

97% of my patched backups is working so far.

next im about to try is 1:1 backups.

Medal Of Honor : Heroes 2 PAL Unpatched works like a dream, as does No More Heroes PAL patched and Resident Evil 4 PAL Patched

M&S At The Olympics PAL Unpatched hangs at the "eject disk" screen though. Will try it patched tomorrow.

Zack & Wiki: Quest For Barbaros Treasure (PAL, patched) - Perfect
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles (PAL, patched) - Perfect
Wario Land: The Shake Dimension (PAL, patched) - Movies still a little on the stuttery side, but watchable. Otherwise perfect.

de Blob (PAL, patched) - This must be a minor bug and I really hope Wiigator/Waninkoko can work this out - The game starts, but always freezes to a disc read error after a few seconds. It doesn't seem to be connected to choosing anything in the menu, it just freezes after a certain time has passed. Might be a sound/streaming issue. Tried different video modes and languages, still nothing. Meh.
Okami (PAL, patched) - Same as everyone else's. Doesn't even start, disc read error.

i'm having a problem with the loader.

i have cIOS 249 & DVDx installed.
i've got cIOS36_rev5 installed
i've got the latest cIOS over the top of that too (v6)

i've deleted cIOS_fix and installed the backup launcher channel 0.3 and have the 0.3 boot.dol on my sd card.

i load up backup launcher 0.3 channel and insert mario galaxy (pal patched). it starts to run and loads the settings, (shows forced pal 60 etc) then when ocarina is on it says no SD codes found (coz there arent any which is fine) but then it just hangs there and does nothing... same when ocarina is off too.

i've left it for 10 minutes and its still stuck there.

what could be the problem? i'm extremely confused about this because i cant find any proper instructions around, and when i find some its all mixed up with the v0.1 launcher and confuses more...
