Has anyone gotten this to work on Wii hardware without the Wii remote being connected?
I want to use the GC controller only but it won't work. Using the patcher on the game causes it to crash back to the homebrew channel when using usb loader gx.
The codes for using the gamecube controller won't work as-is. I tried using the riivolution patches on riftwii and it won't work either.
The patched disc image works on Dolphin but still:
1. It requires the wiimote and possibly the classic controller to be connected.
2. I want to use this on real hardware, not Dolphin.
If it helps to know, my disc images were converted from wbfs (ripped using USB Loader GX) to ISO and then patched with the galaxy patcher tool and then trimmed back to .iso with Wii Scrubber.
Edit: The patched game does boot on riftwii but has the same issue. The game wants the wiimote and nunchuck connected.
(Hopefully also hacks can be made to play Skyward Sword with a GC controller or maybe at least a pro controller using the switch versions control mapping to use on the Wii U's vwii)

Edit: Thank you very much @quatric for taking the time to read this post and for updating the Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 patches to work on hardware. Much appreciated.
Update: The patched disc image of Super Mario Galxay still freezes on USB Loader GX. I got a non-patched iso working on riftwi with riivolution patch. I was unaware the classic controller option was needed for the gc controller to be usable.
