Is there some kind of way to make sure the device actually stays off?
Just put it on sleep mode, don't turn it off completely.Perhaps so, but i installed it to lessen the likelihood of damaging my joycon pins.
because you just need to touch the power button or connect the switch to power and the unit will turn on. If autoRCM is enabled, the device will turn on without any visible sign (screen stays blank) and it wont charge in RCM mode. What the heck, why does it turn on by it self using auto RCM?
Nah, it does turn itself on after shutting down Horizon OS completely. That's what all the battery issue threads with autorcm were about. That I know, I just never heard anyone reporting that the console would turn on by it self lol...
So he probably put the power cable in it or just touched power button .
I thought it really turned ON by it self...
Wait, what? Why does it do that? What triggers the power on state, here?Nah, it does turn itself on after shutting down Horizon OS completely. That's what all the battery issue threads with autorcm were about.
Like the other users suggested, just put it into sleep mode.
There might be more to it if users like the one below aren't having those issues. There are other factors such as CFW, version of AutoRCM used, version of briccmii used, etc.Nah, it does turn itself on after shutting down Horizon OS completely. This post is probably going to be worthless or pointless to some, but I am curious if what I am experiencing is just false info on my part or if others are having this same experience?
So I used this guide to update to 5.1.0 and it installs AutoRCM during the guide. https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...nofficially-without-burning-any-fuses.507461/
And I am guessing this just uses the briccmii v2 method of installing AutoRCM. I used the last part of the guide which was to boot briccmii one more time to repair the cust_data.
I seem to have no battery drain issues with AutoRCM installed. It seems that my switch does not enter RCM mode again after being turned off from horizon. I've tested this by seeing if it was detected as being in RCM after I turned it off. No matter how many hours go by, It does not enter RCM on its own. I have to power on the switch to get it to go into RCM mode. Even now, I just checked my switch after it has been off for a few hours and it's still at 75%. So I'm just looking for an answer to why this is happening? Is it actually losing power but horizon and hekate are not seeing this? It's just odd that I seem to not have this issue but a lot are? So if anyone could clarify that would be great!
I feel like im one of the few that have 0 battery drain issues.. Switch was off all day and is still at 70% where I left it. So not sure what else I can say if people still have the issue? There might be more to it if users like the one below aren't having those issues. Just a hunch but some people might be choosing to power it off while it is still docked which does not actually turn it off but it boots it back into RCM. If I remember tomorrow morning, I could test this out with powering off after leaving it in handheld mode after lunch then powering off it after leaving it docked before bed.uninstall SX's AutoRCM and install AutoRCM with Briccmii v2

Also, if my switch booted into RCM mode randomly today my switch would have booted into horizon anyways since I just leave the dongle in when im not using it....
any kinds of power supply will "wake" up the switch from off state.Just a hunch but some people might be choosing to power it off while it is still docked which does not actually turn it off but it boots it back into RCM. Actions speak louder than words. But you're right, its probably sapping the battery for those who leave it docked.any kinds of power supply will "wake" up the switch from off state.
switch just like apple device(iphone, ipad), it does not remain off while charging. it will always boot into os unless battery is at critical level.
If from horizon you keep the button pressed until the system turns off, the problem still persistsWtf, that's even worse than I thought as everyone reporting battery depleted mostly were said to have forgotten and left the console in RCM mode thinking it was off...
Are you sure this is not another battery desync problem instead?
I'm not even understanding why it's triggering a power on from a complete power off unless the CFW is not actually fully turning it off completely.
Does this problem happens even if you press power button for like 12+ seconds instead of using software turn off feature???
