I have installed SX OS on my Switch and noticed, after turning it off last night, that it had turned itself on again at some point during the night and now had only 30% battery left.
Is there some kind of way to make sure the device actually stays off?
Doesn't happen to mine ever .But again, leave it in sleep mode . The console itself is meant for sleep mode . But if turning it off, via the Switch turn off function. It works fine, but sometimes you might accidently push the power button and not notice that it's actually on in RCM lol

If from horizon you keep the button pressed until the system turns off, the problem still persists

Now if Im not mistaken, if during RCM you keep the button pressed during around 12 seconds, the system fully turns off and stop draining battery
And how exactly can anyone proof that?

I mean in RCM is like if the console is OFF, if a cable is connected to search if RCM is ON it will provide power and wake the console to RCM not giving proof of it was off or not before connecting the cable.

Is there really anyway to see if it's really off or in RCM?

Edit: oh and I forgot to say all portable, not with the console docked...

And I never tried RCM on my Switch yet as I'm waiting for atmosphere so I can start modding mine, but I like to get information on everything...

Ya very easy way to figure it out. Turn it off, and when you turn it back on, check the power that is left = profit???

And what about the battery desync problems that some even said it can happen after just using RCM a lot, isn't that still a thing?

That would make switch also report completely wrong battery status.

Ps: anyway I will never use auto rcm crap, I want TC soldering modchip and if atmosphere comes before that, I will just add a physical button on my joy-con instead.

The battery desync isn't because of RCM .It's only a thing with Linux ( Lakka ) for switch. Not sure where you got that idea from just using Horizon ( Switch's OS ) and RCM mode . If you aren't using Lakka ( Linux OS ) You can't have battery desync. But at this moment in time, Lakka has fixed the battery issue anyways . So yeah, you are fine .

That I know, I just never heard anyone reporting that the console would turn on by it self lol...

So he probably put the power cable in it or just touched power button ;).

I thought it really turned ON by it self...

It does turn on by itself. No power button or insertion needed. Many have reported it. It might only be with AutoRCM installed via SX OS though.

Any way to prevent the auto turning on from happening? Also, if you have autoRCM installed. How do you get back to OFW?

I wonder if it powers up while not being plugged in, I shut my console down from power menu, and like an hour later i plugged in the sx pro widget and it booted!!! did the widget power it on or was it holding in rcm the whole time, I don't know?
I am not worried about this issue when in sleep mode and in dock or charger, but I am when I travel and want it powered off. I also can not remove auto rcm as I have 5.1 on 4.1 fuses right now

With SX OS you hold the vol + button while injecting the payload. That gets you the boot menu. From there you can select "Boot OFW".

any kinds of power supply will "wake" up the switch from off state.
switch just like apple device(iphone, ipad), it does not remain off while charging. it will always boot into os unless battery is at critical level.

Actually turning off the Switch while it's charging does not turn it on and would also charge the battery.

Oh this happened to me 2 times too and I thought I was going crazy lol because I was sure I power off the console almost full battery but when I tried to power it on it was with no battery left.

You'd be amused to know that the Switch turns on with the slightest press of the power button:)

So what is the definitive method to turn off the Switch and not have battery drain? I'm going on a trip and don't want to have a dead Switch when I get on the plane. And how to permanently uninstall AutoRCM? It's really annoying to want to play a cartridge game and now apparently I need a jig and dongle to do that.
