On literally every thread I go to, there is an autoplaying video ad at the bottom of the page. While it doesn't have any sound, it does interrupt anything I was currently listening to due to the browser playing a "silent" audio clip. The ads are also starting to eat up a good chunk of my data.

You could try using an ad blocker. If your phone is rooted, AdAway is really good. Plus it doesn't have any extra overhead since it modifies the hosts file instead of running a process in the background.

Unfortunately my phone isn't rooted, and my phone is too obscure that theres no rooting methods

Also, me adding an ad block won't fix the issue for other people

On the Google play store there are several internet broesers that block ads none of them require root to do that.

I'd rather not switch to a different browser

And once again, it wont fix the issue for everyone
Ads are part of this and pretty much every other site you have two options

1. Donate to the site and ghat removes ads
2. Do what 99% of users here do and block the ads

That is your only options

I am aware of all the methods to block the ads, I'm saying that me blocking the ads won't fix the issue, as its not just me, its several other users

And again the Ads are what pay for the site so why are they going to remove them when you can simply remove them by donating or using an ad blocker?

I'm not saying to remove ads entirely, I'm saying the need to remove the autoplaying video ads that just eat up people's data

Yes but if its eating up your data you personally have options to stop this happening. I dont see why you are so against changing browsers to one that blocks ads there are many including firefox chrome and samsung internet browser to just name a few.

I was just reporting the issue, I didn't ask for any solutions, I know how to block ads, I intentionally don't block ads here so I can support the site

Again though if the ads bother you so much and you worry about your data usage (side note thank god i live in a country whereby all internet companys can pretty much only supply you with unlimited internet) and you truly want to suport the site then donate to it and no more ads.

And it says on the official GBA Patreon site that you need to donate a minimum of $5 to block ads. Hmm
Oh yep it does. If the page i linked to is wrong they seriously need to reword what it says because it sure does give the impression that 2 dollars will remove ads.

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
