Hi guys, I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to post this.

I've never built anything, so I thought a first project that would be cool would be a bar top arcade machine.

Here's the current progress (It's ugly :) )

Unfortunately I must have put everything together slightly non-square as the screen must be forced in to position inside the cabinet, it is way too tight. Perhaps I could sand it down, anyway, back on topic...

I do have a Raspberry Pi, but I decided instead Id love to use my old Wii. Firstly, it has gamecube ports, therefore allowing to play gamecube games, and it could also play Wii games using Wiimotes.

The biggest aspect of this is the joysticks, here's what I plan on getting:

Now, I do know that Nintendont can be programmed using a .ini (or something) to accept Xbox and PS3 controllers. However, these things are not controllers, albeit they do plug in via usb.

My question is, does anyone know if these things can be connected up to a Wii using Nintendont (or other)?

I think a Wii-powered arcade machine would be absolutely amazing!

Thanks!

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
@Xdqwerty you can use a "spawner" function on any object.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Or when your player dies, you can say in code, if enemy exists, do nothing, but if enemy does not exist, then create enemy at certain spot. (This would be a pain tho for lots of emeies)

Easiest, simple way would be just restart scene, but player would restart from beginning.
