Jeez people, stop!
This is nothing new - stop ranting/panicking... Nintendo have been going after romsites for 20yrs... just because [insert name of whatever site here] wasn't affected before, doesn't mean they were immune.
Just delve into the history of GBATemp (which started life as a romsite) for info on how long these cease & desists have been occurring.

These roms will ALWAYS be out there.
Too bad about [insert name of whatever site here], RIP... now find somewhere else... somewhere probably better.

I realise this, and I actually support Nintendo protecting their copyrights. Just rationally thinking about the momentum a bit / not ranting here.

The wierd thing is they are mainly taking down the likes of Tomodachi Collection, Mario, and Pokemon, you know the popular games. The lesser known games like Clubhouse Games, Chibi Robo and Super Princess Peach still seem to be available on that site. Wierd how they haven't tried to DCMA all their games, especially Chibi Robo given that they made a fairly new 3DS game in the series.

Edit: The three games that haven't been removed are all by third-parties, published under Nintendo.

They did DMCA full sets.
A few games have slipped past that seem to not be developed by Nintendo, but just published by them. Clubhouse Games is developed by Agenda, Chibi-Robo is developed by Skip Ltd, and Super Princess Peach is developed by Tose. As for a game like Mario Kart DS, that was developed by Nintendo EAD Group No. 1, in-house rather than by a third-party. Due to a third-party developing the game instead of themselves, they probably don't have all rights or permissions from the third-party necessary in order to remove them. Still, it's a handful of games left behind with 'Published by Nintendo' (or just 'Nintendo', idk) on them. The main games are definitely gone though, no doubt about that.

Edit: Durr.

Had Nintendo never heard the term "Streisand Effect" before?

One doesn't simply remove thing from Internet. The act of remove thing from Internet only make people more aware of it and download/share it more.

I was referring to the all in one sets. Like the Good and No-Intro sets. These are what I'm working on backing up elsewhere.

As people said, Nintendo are in their own right to claim copyright on their IP. Hopefully they plan something really big to have done this at this point.

At least the Paradise site has a SNES Hacks and Translations pack still up. It's something.

no they're not planning anything big just being money hungry dicks repackaging old roms as vc console titles since they already saw how much people enjoy old retro roms now they want to capitalize on it

Wow a business trying to make money off something they own, stop the presses we have a news of the century. Seriously enough with the "greedy Nintendo" crap, they're a business not a charity.

Why don't you spend time and money on creating something then give it away for free.

Did you really imply they still bother to create new VC releases?
(A 1-off release of a pair of games everyone was expecting after their prequel, which was already made by amateurs more than half a year before, doesn't set a trend)
