Hacking Any reason not to trim your roms?

Just curious if it is ever a bad idea to use a rom trimmer such as the R4DS one...?

It's never given me a problem (even though I have a cyclods...) however I just want to make sure.

well there is some debate on the problems that it sometimes supposedly creates on multiplayer but other than that, trim awaii.

As far as I know there aren't any technical problems when trimming a ROM. The only possible hindrance is when you have to patch a certain ROM (for example, the Soma Bringer (J) rom, patched with the translation). You normally have to patch on a clean ROM, and not a trimmed one. But that can be fixed easily by downloading the clean ROM.

So um in short, no, there shouldn't be any reason not to. ^^

the trimmer made by R4 is not 'safe', it can remove wifi data and such, you should get rid of it.

What he said, and Rominator is what I strongly suggest

Rominator is good, but in my opinion NDSTokyoTrim is the best. It's small, easy to use, and trims extremely fast (within half a second). Plus, it's probably the safest trimmer out there. You can't go wrong with whichever trimmer you use, though.

Same here, NDSTokyoTrim is the best IMHO.
But you can't go wrong with Rominator too, especially if you want a ROM organizer too.

NDSTokyoTrim in my opinion would be the safest choice.
At first launch, it can be a bit NSFW, which I find a bit stupid but that's the author choice to make these image displayed by default.

The skin can be disabled though.
