I just messed around with a "spare" wii console that was given to me and while doing so I read in a couple of threads people supporting 4.1 over 4.2 and 4.3.

My main Wii, is a black Wii LEH5 that I am pretty sure that came with 4.2 so I modded it on that version. I am unsure if I can downgrade it, and above all if it is worth the risk of doing so. I do have of course my NAND backup that I made 3 years ago and a bootmii always on my SD card. The thing is, that I do not get what would being on 4.1 would offer more than 4.2.

It can be risky to do ( you need to install the right IOS version AND the right SM). but i still believe it can be helpfull in a brick.

If you don't have bootmii as boot2 and your wii bricked. You'r last hope can be SaveMii(frii) and for that you would require a disc with a higher firmware than that you are on.

someone Correct me if I am wrong...
