Check this out.. Wouldn't this be the all time best online game for the DS.

Think controls like metroid, with vo-ip like teamspeak built in.

It would be awesome no doubt, but would the DS ever be able to handle it?
I remember when Amiga games would filter down to the much less powerful C64, the idea would largely be intact, and sometimes the gameplay, but more often than not it just paled in comparison in every way.
Speaking of the Amiga, the first online (well it was only 2 player over modem, but you get the idea) game that I ever played was Fire Power.

@mthrnite sure a game like that would be great but online cannon fodder especially if the stylus was well implemented would be a cut above the rest.

Come to think of it I would love to see a syndicate or populous port as well.

Screw it I have too many modern games to play without thinking of old ones.

Oh and nice fake picture zone97, never played Americas Army but still.

Yes, I remember Fire Power on the Amiga, for it’s time it was awesome.
And I to would love to see a cannon fodder, there is a cannon fodder 2
coming for the PSP & it looks promising. But cannon fodder with the
stylus nav combo would be incredible.

Hmm It could happen. Let me learn DS programming enough to put in 3d models and I'll create a real looking picture.

But yeah I'd rather see CS or UT:GOTY...maybe even Tribes.

Does anyone remember the specs for CS 1.5 and below?? I mean, those graphics were good for 1997 and all, but with maybe a little less resolution, maps, texures...could it run on a ds? i'd learning programming just to help out how ever i could in it's development. UT or Tribes would be cool too. but I think both would require alot more resources and bring the framerate way way down. Plus i think you'd reach a larger crowd with CS.

okay, so what programmers/developers do i need to kidnap to make this happen?

or should i get the whole nintendo staff and chain them all to computers and whip them till it's perfect?

edit: should we start up a CS thread?

I agree that CS should be able to play like Metroid. The guys at steam are extremly good programers making it so people on low end machines can still enjoy the games so they should be able to port or make a CS game specifically for the DS. Dunno anything about homebrew however there is one problem steam would run into and thats how many people can play at the same time on Nintendo's server? The most I have done is 4....that's lame CS. What would be the MINIMUM about of players not to make CS:DS suck?
