...whose R4i 3DS Gold (r4ids.cn) is NOT working!?

So I was very careful before updating the 3DS, and after being assured that the card I'm using works perfectly on the newest update (5.1.0-11U), I finally updated my 3DS. But! After I updated it, the screen now shows:

"An error has occurred. Hold down the POWER Button to turn the system off. Please refer to the Operations Manual for details."

Help, please?

Note: The R4i worked perfectly before I updated the 3DS.
I was having the time of my life back then. Sigh. Good times, good times.

Your cart can work fine with new updates because it can be updated itself to work with it. This is is contrast to other carts that don't have any updates and will never work with you.

You should always update the flash cart BEFORE you update the DSi/3DS.

You will need another DS model to run the update.

Um I tried updating the cart before updating the 3DS, but I was told that there is no need to update it since it's already in the latest version...

How did you try to update it?

I downloaded the latest patch from their website, then copied it onto the microsd card. I then loaded the cart in the 3DS, then clicked on the patch (R4iGold_3DS45_NDSi145_Patch). I got it to load properly and got to open the menu (?) of the patch. It told me to press the KEY_A Button, but when I did, Card Check would say "Fail".

Is the icon it shows right now of a metroid game? If so, that's NOT an updateable model.
