Japanese works perfect on 1.23 and above M3 Wood...
You will only need translation patch if you want.

At US version Pokemon doesn't get EXP without AP patch.

On a sidenote:
I am myself using the (U) rom of Pkm white for a while now, just had to apply the exp freeze patch.
Other than that, I am running it without any issues with sakura. I had no need for wood to play pokemon yet.
Before the US release, I also played the translation and exp fix patched japanese rom also with sakura.

Using M3DS Real with m3 quadboot.

i wasn't online yet, or rather i wasnt using all functions, not too interested.
But I successfully traded pokemon with a pal through local wifi and got Zororua on the japanese rom and the victory pass on the us rom with that function called, eh, how was it again, mystery gift?

I do had freezes sometimes when using wifi functions, but usually always at the end of the wifi action, like, obtaining the wonder card through mystery gift. But it still worked, just had to restart the ds.

People were making their own version of YWG's firmware, which wasn't the problem, the problem was people weren't releasing their source along with it like the licencing requires you to do when you alter their source

Wouldnt YWG unlock it for certain scene members like Gaboros??

i actually use quadboot by a little gay catboy and i use wood m3 the most time i think xD that and YSM3... some times i use another firmwares too
