Hacking Advantages to using a9lh?

Hey all. Currently I am using Reinand and the most updated Emunand. I am considering installing a9lh. What are the advantages to using it? Thanks.

Perfect boot rate, possibility to use sysnand instead of emunand, boots waaaaay faster. (around 8 seconds to launch the system here)
You can also launch some homebrews such as Decrypt9 BEFORE the system to restore a nand backup for example... (The 3DS is nearly brick proof)

And you can also have your sysnand updated to the highest firmware so you don't even have to have an emunand.

If you keep your emunand, you don't have anything to change in fact, everything will continue to work as it is.

If you want to switch to sysnand, you'll have to do some simple steps. Just follow the OTP guide, it has everything you need to now.

I was also wondering that since i don't want to load every single game again on the sd. So for installing a9lh you can just use another SD and leave that aside for the time being untill everything is installed ?

We get the same thread every other day, READ THEM !! 100% Boot Rate, SYSNand CFW, Load .bin files before SYSNand boots, Region Free, Patched DSi, Patched Native GBA games etc etc.

Even with my 128 GB SD, I still get a decent boot time of 15 seconds. Worth the extra wait time for more space. It's much faster than you'd think, especially if you turn it on mindlessly.

Overall, it's not necessary to install A9LH at all, don't let people show off and brag about it. They're just happy that they didn't brick in the process.
For most users, especially newcomers, menuhax + Emunand is all you'd need.

Honestly the ability to fix soft bricks alone makes it worth it. Then in addition you get the perfect and direct boots, no need for Emunand anymore, and everything else already mentioned in this thread.

And anyone asking.. wondering.. YES. You can install a9lh WITHOUT losing everything you currently have (provided you dont mind a long copy/paste process)

The guide explains all this. And if you follow it.. it is foolproof. Especially at this point with all the safety implements made since the original guide was made.

SysNAND CFW, which you can then delete your emuNAND (or move it to another SD card) to free up more space!
Fast Boot
Since it's started very early in the boot (FIRM0/1) it allows you to recover from soft bricks without the need to boot into safe mode.
I suggest if you are interested in installing it, fallow this guide on getting your OTP and compiling it to the usable A9LH installer, then using this guide to install A9LH and switch your emuNAND and sysNAND

The games aren't installed to the sysNAND, it needs the SD card to store them. The emuNAND is basically just your sysNAND, cloned onto your SD card and is just the NAND used by the CFW to read your games.
Basically, it was just an older way of protecting your 3DS from being updated and removing your CFW.
Now with CFW's like AuReiNAND, ReiNAND, CakesFW, and Mizuki, you no longer need the emuNAND buffer to protect from updates. They now protect the FIRM0/1 from being overwritten when the 3DS updates, so you can run CFW on your sysNAND.
Still, you need the SD card for storage for your games.

Having a large sd card is not pointless. All the cias installed will be on your sd card, so a big one is good.

vouch for this.
i installed it without loosing anything, i was on OFW, had nnid linked, had oficial games..
took me a full day to install (specially with a 4gb card, much copy and paste and a failing sd card reader on the pc)

i didn't tried other cfw before, but i am really happy with this setup
also, no emunand naggy thing.. i don't need to have 2 nands and think that i need to use one for something and the other for other stuff
no worry to update the right nand, no linking or unlinking stuff
no need to go through a game or a option on menu or browser to launch homebrew, directly open it like a game..
just 1 nand, cfw installed, last firmware, can install pirated gamez, homebrew etc..
i am happy

Having a large sd card is not pointless. All the cias installed will be on your sd card, so a big one is good.

Don't confuse sysNAND and your sd card. Those are two very different things. And yes. Most of the time, you will be installing games/themes/apps in cia form to the sd card. You should only install titles to the nand.

Ok cool. Yeah I'll be looking to install games that I have dumped myself (and probably a few games my brother owns) and I'm looking at installing the CIA versions of Retroarch cores. Also looking into playing DS games too (that I haven't figured out yet) so what are titles?

Titles would be like what are in downgrade packs when you downgrade to 9.2.
