Hacking ACEKARD 2I

Ok so Im getting a Acekard 2i, I have a DSi and a DS Phat, my question is, what do i do first, update it to 1.4 firmware and then install AKAIO, or what? Also I need help on how to install AKAIO and what are the advantages of AKAIO, and another question, if I just leave it with the original firmware, can I still play my .nds and .gba files or what? I need to know, and I need very detailed instructions lol, im kind of a noob at this (used to PSP hacking and stuff)

Installing your Acekard 2i is very easy.

Just drag and drop the AKAIO files onto your microSD card.

Trust me, it's a lot better than the official firmware.

Then, put this .nds updater somewhere on your microSD.

Next, run this .nds file on your DS Phat, and enjoy your Acekard 2i on your 1.4 DSi.

It's that simple. You can play ALL the NDS games you want. If you want to play GBA games, you'll need a Slot-2 solution, and only for your DS Phat.

Yup, the updater file doesn't touch AKAIO, what it does is it reflashes your Acekard so that 1.4 DSi's can boot it.
It'll appear as "Danny Phantom" on your DSi Menu, don't be alarmed.

Oh, and you can safely remove the .nds updater when you're done with it.

By the by, where are you getting your Acekard from?

Im getting it from Modchipcentral, oh and also, another question, like the AKAIO cfw, I was reading about it and it said stuff about AKAIO loaders, can you please explain to me what those are, and like do I need to update to the latest loaders and AKAIO to play the latest games such as Pokemon Heartgold or Soulsilver or KH 358/2?

Basically, there's your AKAIO firmware, and then there's loaders.
Instead of updating the firmware for every single gamefix, instead updated loaders are released.
Loaders are easy to update and allow fast updates for game compatibility fixes.

AKAIO 1.6RC2 has the loaders you need pre-packaged.
You can also update your loaders over wifi, straight from the AKAIO menu.
Or you can manually replace the loaders by downloading them from here.

Hmm... I see modchipcentral have it for $23, but I bought mine from gamekool.com for $15, although it doesn't come with a microSD reader, but you can get one of those elsewhere.#

And yes, those games should play perfectly.

Oh OK, well it supposed to get here by Friday or Monday,(hopefully Friday lol) but another question, with AKAIO, can i play my .nds games like normal, like meaning that I can play them over Nintendo Wi-Fi, and like also what else can the Acekard do, like can I put MP3s on there and vids or what?

Yeah you can play over WIFI as normal.

And yes, you can put MP3S and DPG format videos on there, and play them using Moonshell 2.10.

Moonshell is great, I use it all the time. It'll include the DPGENC.exe program you need for making DPG videos.

By the way, if i get a Fake Acekard (which Im praying im not) like how would i get that to work, would I install AKAIO and then 1.4 fix just like normal or are there any special steps to like not brick it, although it doubt ill get a fake because modchipcentral is an authorized retailer on acekards official site, but still though.

You should get a real one, worry about having a fake if you actually get one, k?

I see that you want to play .gba games. It was only covered briefly, but do you have a 3in1 or some other slot2 card? You'll need something like that to play .gba games. The Acekard cannot play .gba games by itself.

Yes it needs the EZ-Flash 3in1 to be plugged into the Slot-2.

Yup, but your PSP can play GBA games*

I'm not quite sure what you mean. Of course you can play .nds games with the Acekard, that's what it's made to do. You need a microSD card too though, because that's where all the ROMs are stored.

Yep, I have custom firmware on it right now with a GBA emulator on it. So there is no way to play .gba games on a DSi because it has no slot 2 to put the other thing right?
