heya.
you may have seen it recently, specs of the switch are possibly leaked. but they looks very low.
for example, only 4gb of ram
so my guess is, the ram and few other component are inside the cartridge.
the base specs, like this 4gb of ram, are possibly for console os and browser and such
so heres the big deal of this topic.
do you think there will be a whole market of flashcart once the console is exploited?
here's what i mean.
for example, there will be lower level flashcart (can play games requiring up to 4gb of ram)
mid lever fc (play games requiring up to 8gb of ram)
upper lever fc (play games requiring up to 16gb of ram)

your though?

I guess I hadn't even thought about compensating for lower-tier hardware with custom cartridges. I somehow doubt that there will be an effect on flashcarts, though. Flashcart designers would just push carts with the maximum amount of RAM possible and people will buy it because it would be able to run all the games

ofc, but for example, my mom dont play games like skyrim or assassin's creed. she play low spec req ames like tetris or majjong. so a low tier fc would be perfect for her and it wont cost a lot like high tier one, right?

But not as many people would buy it, which would drive the price up and make it impractical

iknow for sure that gba cartridge had ram inside, not in the console
Nope, GBA had it's own RAM, 32 kilobyte + 96 kilobyte VRAM (internal to the CPU), 256 kilobyte DRAM (outside the CPU). The carts on it were mapped directly into the consoles memory (as was the case for NES and GB/C as well) but it was read only.

Not impossible if Nintendo can do it low level but isn't cartridge much slower than 50GB/s?
