Hi guys, I really need some help here. I have a strange problem.

- I added a Fat32 partition to my 750Gig HDD. (80GB)
- Then I used your tool to format the 80GB partition, the drive name was I.
- I Added 2 games to it succesfully (awesome!)
- But now, waninkoko's loader is not recognizing the drive, really strange. :s

So, I reformatted to Fat32 again.
- Formatted to wbfs with waninkoko's usb loader on the wii.
- Dumped an ISO on my HDD (all via wanin's iso loader 1.0.dol) and played it succesfully.
- But now I cannot add any games to it via your app, it does not find the drive. I tried the ocmplete alfabet, also all the upper/lower cases.

Any suggestions?

Same thing here! added zelda from my original disc, booted fine. but in windows the tools could not detect the drive at all. My USB stick worked fine tho.. I'm fully formatting the partition now (not quickformat) if that works.. i'll let u know

I'm having the exact same problem. If you format your drive with wbfs_win.exe it doesn't seem to be recognized by the USB loader and requires the drive to be reformated via the loader. And if you format the drive with the USB loader it recognizes the disk but then moving the drive back to a PC , wbfs_win.exe won't recognize it anymore as Windows won't assign a drive letter to the drive as it doesn't recognize what the drive is anymore.

I confirm this analysis.

------------ test 1 :
I prepared a hd on my computer.
bla bla init (ok)
bla bla add game1 (ok)
bla bla add game2 (ok)
bla bla add game3 (ok)

working like a charm
checked the status of the wbfs
blabla info
blabla list

everything looked great

then went to my wii...
HD recognized
partition NOT recognized

------------ test 2 :
formatted a partition through the loader on the wii
went back to my pc plugged the hd
NO drive letter.
NO way to add a drive letter
thus winwbfs is useless.

------------ test 3 :
formatted a partition through the loader on the wii
went back to my pc plugged the hd
used the cygwin version of wbfs tools..
bla bla ls (ok)
bla bla df (ok)
bla bla add game1 (ok)
bla bla add game2 (ok)
bla bla add game3 (ok)
bla bla ls (ok)
bla bla df (ok)

any hope that your tool will solve this issue ?

i have downloaded the 2 windows WBFS apps

none have worked!

any ideas?

You have to use this app via command line! -.-

Go to Start -> Run -> cmd and get to the folder containing wbfs_win.exe. Then you can use the parameters specified in the readme.txt.

Anyway I got a problem over here:

First I extracted wbfs_win.exe, boot.dol and icon.png into the same folder as the iso's. I used the makehbc command to create a seperate entry for Mario Galaxy for use within the HBC. The app created a folder named RMGP01 with a boot.dol, icon.png and meta.xml in it. I moved that folder into the apps-folder on my SD-card.

But when I start this app via HBC, I only see those console-messages:

Loading IOS 222
Loading disc RMGP 01 // empty Wii-Drive begins spinning!

returned 3

What did I do wrong?

full format did nothing, the tool (both windows and cygwin) stil refuse to see the partition, even if it's ntfs or fat... while the wii finds it just fine! perhaps it's to do with partition size? mine's 80gb, will try a smaller one

20gb also doesn't work... still could not open drive: no error

Can't figure it out either. I guess we just have to wait for a fix or something. :/

So it doesn't reconize the drive if the loader formats it or dd you format the drive through the app?

the ap never recognizes it in any form or shape here, not as fat, ntfs or waninkoko's format (after formatting on the wii)
while on the wii, it's all good!
Also in windows itself the drive is always recognized (tho not accessable in wii-format, but it sees its size etc just fine)

Guess i'm stuck with adding games thru the wii!

i'm sure that IOS222 is the first cIOS released that uses 2.0 speed (think it was USB2.0 cIOS beta 3). cIOS36_r9 runs from IOS249.

that may be your problem

This WBFS windows version is GREAT!

Just a small problem: When extracting files the filename is taken from the actual game name. Special characters are used for the filename and result in illegal filenames (for example: "Spielberg | EA Games Boom Blockx" with the PIPE as illegal character).

I suggest to substitute everything that's not [a-zA-Z0-9] with an underscore _ in the filename.

@gibbed: Can you please add this? THANK YOU and keep up the good work! It's just perfect.

Can I request something? Not sure, but it should be simple... Just to make so that it checks the current free space on the device before adding/installing a game. This actually happened to me, I tried to copy Disaster to my flash drive, and at about 95% it gave the error message, lol.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand hardly anything the readme says. I reformatted my 8 gb flash drive and I have an iso... what do I do to make this work. I just want to put a game on my flash drive and get my wii to read it. I dunno what "wbfs" is. ugh... I feel dumb...

This looks very promising will have to try it out, not much of a fan of command line stuff, so just for the hey (like probably 1/2 dozen already have already started) might whip up a decent GUI to launch commands to do the steps for me.
