Well basically PNY buys their components from Toshiba.
(So does Kingston, "I think i read somewhere")

I used to think that PNY was a crappy no-name brand, but I recently got a PNY microSD card and was surprised to see that the packaging wasn't cheap and pathetic...

So did I, when I bought it first.
After doing some research I found out that their hardware are based on Toshiba components. Pretty reliable.

From my experience, you can't judge a card just by it's class. I've seen Class 2 cards from one brand outperform Class 6 cards from another. It's mostly trial and error but stick with the better brands and you'll have no problems. I have a Sandisk Class 2 and it's faster than any of my other Class 4 or 6 cards from other brands in both reading and writing.

sandisk are very good for read/write but generally very slow for access times
if the card was 2gb it wasn't have a class so must be a bigger one as 2gb isn't sdhc so no class rating.

Class counts, not region.

Not necessarily the case, especially with popular brands like Sandisk and Kingston. Know why? Because they are all manufactured in either Taiwan, Japan, and a few other place...but no China. So if you get a Kingston/Sandisk from China then it's a fake and will probably run alot slower than a one from Japan with the same class.

My Sandisk Micro SD says made in China. It's not fake, because it's WAY too fast to be fake. I can copy a 128MB ROM to it in a few seconds.
