I have a question. (New user of new*3DS XL )
I recently bought a PGC (4 days old). To be specific New*3DS XL. Already on CFW.
My current System Firmware is 11.3.0-36U
I have cfw Luma v6.6
At first. I updated the games thru prompt messages that pops up before launching the game, I have FIB 2.4. Halfway updating some games, I saw that there's FIB 2.8 already. I tried to update the FIB to latest and when I continue updating the games, I now get an error which prompt me to update the system software.
I can't download free themes from EShop (though I haven't tried it the first time I got it) nor update my games now since it always prompt me to update.
Did I made a mistake? Am I suppose to update the FIB or leave it as is when I got it ?
I don't have enough knowledge about CFW's. How do I fix this? Do I need to go back to FIB 2.4 since it's the original version when I got it ?
Please enlighten me, thanks in advance for the answers and knowledge.

What will happen if I click the update on the system setting>other setting>system update?

Ok so a really stupid question.. i installed A9HL+Luma on my new 3ds the other day using safehax ( i was on 11.2 and now i upgraded to 11.3) and i wanna upgrade my 4 gd sd card to a 32 gb one..
I need to know how to upgrade without loosing my cias and all that crap..
Hi I have a dumb question, when I download a CIA for example a game boy color game do I put that download into the folder called CIA on my micro SD? and then just go to the loader and install it?
Yes, just put the CIA in the cias folder, open FBI, navigate to the cias folder, select the correct cia, install or install and delete it, and then it will pop up on yout home screen
Hi Guys, a couple of years ago, I’ve modded an original 3DS (at firmware 4.2.0-9U) with the PastaCFW 1.2.1 (which I start by entering the DS profile on settings).
Now I want use the Luma CFW on it.
I didn’t perform any updates on its firmware whatsoever, just installed a couple of CIA’s.
I’ve being studying for a while how do it, and I believe a should do the following:
But I’m not sure at all if the steeps above are safe, so I’m really worried of bricking it during the process.
What would you guys suggest me to do?
P.S.: I’ve attached a few images showing the state of the console.

- Remove the CIA’s I’ve installed (using the “title manager” application?);
- Format the console, so its NAND gets it original state (including the DS profile?);

I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer

Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?

@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one

I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version

@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!

I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it

I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
