Press select when you boot Luma and tick "show version in system settings". Then go to settings, and if it says "emu" then update.Hello, on my emunand there is no "emu" before version in system settings, but I'm 100% sure I'm on emunand and my sysnand is 9.2. Is it normal ?
Try Luma 5.2 which seems the most stable. The settings might not look right because the guide hasn't been updated properly for Luma 6.0.Help!
I got to section 3 on part 5 configuring Luma3DS
https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-5-(arm9loaderhax)
I don't get the right options and it even shows as New 3DS I think while I am doing a 2DS because I see clock options.
whatever I do after I try to save
"An error has ocurred
An old unsupported FIRM has been detected
Copy firmware.bin in /luma to boot
press any button to shut down"
tyvm. going through alerts i noticed this and i dont believe i ever said thank you. so thanks alot. although atm ive forgotten what this is for lol. im too tired. sorry.freeShop
encTitleKeys.bin-Updater
You need both to run freeShop. Install both and then run the encTitleKeys.bin-Updater first. It'll download the file needed and then autoboot you to freeShop.
If you only need to access the Homebrew Menu just follow this part of the major guide: https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-1-(Homebrew)Hello everyone! I don't know if this is the right topic to post into, but I need a favor if anyone could help me. I have a 3ds xl with 11.0.0-33E, and I want to install homebrew. I did look at some sites including the "official" homebrew one but as I am new to this whole process and also don't understand anything from programming, I had absolutely no clue on what I was reading. I need to install homebrew so to run a save editor. I'd be really glad if anyone could help me out. Thank you in advance!

Yes, that guide will install on your 3DS a way to access the Homebrew Menu, and from it you will be able to launch apps like this save editor for Pokèmon games, for exampleSo with this I can then download and use the save editors I want? Sorry if my questions seem dumb, but as I said I am clueless, treat me like a total imbecile.
Okay, thanks a lot for your time, friend! Finally I might be able to work on MHGen now :3 thank you once again!Yes, that guide will install on your 3DS a way to access the Homebrew Menu, and from it you will be able to launch apps like this save editor for Pokèmon games, for example
Yes. NTR isn't really a custom firmware, despite its name.I have luma and arm9. Can I install ntr cfw without losing luma?
It is possible. Start here:https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-1-(Homebrew)Hey guys, hi! I'm kinda new here. I have a old 3DS with the 10.6 firmware and I want to install a custom firmware in it but I can't find it clear if it is possible or not. I looked for it in the FAQ and in some threads but still I would really want some clarification, please. Is it possible to do it? Using which methods? There is some "noob-proof guide" that is safe for me to follow? Thank you very much and sorry for the bad english, it is not my primary language. Thank you!

Hey!
Seeing as you're on 10.6, you can downgrade to 9.2 just fine and install CFW.
If you have a working browser, you can start right here: https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-1-(Homebrew) and continue all the way to part 5 for the best entry point (arm9loaderhax) and Luma3DS as CFW.
Go to the system settings and change time and date to January 1st 2000 at 0:00. After that, go to browser and then the wrench icon, and initalize save data, then go back to browser, and go to browserhax as fast as you can. Note that when it reachs January 2nd, you must do it the whole process again. For more info, go to http://smealum.github.io/3dsOh, thank you guys for the fast answer! Let me see... A working browser would be being able to use the browser to access web pages, right? If that is the case, mine "isn't working", since it always asks me to update the console if I try to use it (I just tested it again searching for "hello" in the 3ds web browser). Is that the only way? Is there a way to fix this? Thanks!
Well, that did the trick! The browser is now working fine again, thank you! I will read these links that you guys sent me and any other question I will come here.
