Can you reformat the sd and make the emunand all over again? Should work right? - that way you can go into the settings and stuff.

Highest usable firmware is wood 1.62, which supports 6.3 at most I think.

So i bought a 4.5 3DS and have Gateway on the way.

It's safe. There are no reported brick since omega was released. It's debatable whether the brick code is still there though. At least it seems almost impossible for ordinary users to trigger it.

I believe .3dz will only work for unsplit files, if the game is 4gb you can trim it so it will still fit on fat32

Can I update the 3DS EmuNand Firmware in Gateway Classic Mode? Or will this affect the real Nand?

laos101 : yes the last firmwares support multi rom on a single micro SD
BigGamerz : you have to change the launcher.dat file in the SD of the 3ds and also the gateway exploit installer in the gateway blue, then run the exploit and behave as before.
Ochi : I think it is the same, but I've always used the Gateway mode to update the EmuNand, I would do the same if I were you. However you can wait someone other answer, probably he will answer you better than I did.

I understand that the Eshop makes you update to the latest firmware. With that being said, is there anyway for me to go on there and legitimately buy games?

At The moment no, because you can't access it in system nand, since you cannot update to the latest firmware in order to maintain executable the exploit, and also not in emuNAND, because with firmware 7,20 Nintendo has changed the save method of the application and when you try to start it you get stuck with the 3ds logo. You only have to wait the next Gateway update that will fix the problem in emuNAND.

a few month ago I sold my 3DS XL with Gateway, bough now a new one. I heard that 7.2 currently not working online, what mean this exactly for me?

I have Pokemon X Original at Home now and want to play it online, shouldn't it work in the Pass Trough Mode?

Also what happen with Games now, like Pokemon Y (With changed GID)

You can boot the red card in gateway mode and retail cards in classic mode. Both are running the same emunand and can access eshop and such (when eshop actually works...)
